Just one of the many reasons #13 is so important in our lives. 22 years ago today Tyler went through the first ever CVR with reducing head height (it used to be done in 2 separate surgeries) it was a 10+ hour surgery, hours of waiting for him to be moved into ICU and stable enough for us to see him, followed by a week in the hospital, miles and miles of driving to Seattle Children’s Hospital for follow up care for the next 22 years, several other surgeries (one relatively minor and one huge one that involves breaking and correcting both of his jaws so they aligned properly and was healed quick enough to head back to school and play his sophomore year) and fast forward to today. Tears flow as I remember back to everything we have gone through as a family. Fast forward to today he is going to college and playing football at an amazing college in Texas chasing his dreams of kicking at this level, getting an education and surrounded by amazing friends, teammates and coaches. We are beyond blessed. Thanks to God and to all of the amazing physicians, our many friends and family who were with us along this sometimes extremely difficult road. #fridaythe13th #ourluckyday #grateful #muenkesyndrome #craniosynostosis #craniowarrior #sagufootball #lovemykicker #proudmamma
