White people in the Slave Arts
Why?
Really, I just want to know why?
But to be more specific, I would like to know why is it that white people (feel free to answer also) find it in their favor to practice the slave arts? And I’m purposely calling Africans and “Africans in the Diaspora” spiritualities- “slave arts” due to the fact that well….Maybe you hoes forgot that People of Color were enslaved, and these religions and spiritualities evolved to assist them out of bondage (Haitian Vodou) as well as through the hell of racism (Hoodoo).
Seriously though, how can you even attempt to go into a religion or spirituality to which your very people criticized, outlawed, and even feared. I don’t give a flying fuck if it was your ancestors, you know why? Because I don’t see one God Damned white Houngan Mambo, Tata, Yaya, Santo, Santera, etc. Stepping up to discuss black issues today.
I don’t see any of you white bitches in our religions giving back to the people of color. When was the last time any of you white practitioners of Vodou, Ocha/santeria/Lucumi, Maria Lionza, Ifá, Afá, Palo Mayobe, Palo Monte, ever said…..“ Hey why don’t we go and help people of color reclaim their rightful spiritualities?”
I bet that thought never crossed your mind. No all you all want to do is get a damned title and feed your ego and say you are apart of something exotic. And don’t let me get started on Hoodoo.

You white witches need to think twice before stepping in these fields. I see more white people looking for ego boosts, because their altar has so many pretty colors and pictures of the Saints. Guess what. If this was even 100 years ago, those same Loas you VENERATE today, would have cut your throat without thinking about it. Don’t come to black religions when you can’t even respect and deal with current black issues today. Because for us. Our religions/ spiritualities are to help us against The Beast. Take it from a true BLACK New Orleans Hoodoo spiritual worker, you are ALL cultural appropriating and you don’t respect the spirits….why? Because you don’t respect the people they sprang from.
