Young love

Why do most people believe that young love no longer exists? My boyfriend and his professor were recently discussing our long distance relationship. His professor was skeptical in believing that two college students like ourselves can remain loyal in a society so heavily focused on sex. How? Well, we simply love each other. When I tell people he is the man I'll marry one day, I usually receive the same kind of doubtful reaction: "You're young. You don't know what you want. When I was your age I thought I was going to marry blah blah blah" and I'm sorry to hear that things didn't work out for you and "blah blah blah", but my relationship is my own and it's fate doesn't have anything to do with your failed romances. My mom married my dad 7 days after her 18th birthday, 3 days after her high school graduation. And 25 years later, they're happily married and very much in love. I met my love almost 5 years ago on an annual vacation in Vermont. A little over a year ago, our time came and we were finally able to overcome the obstacles in our way and begin our journey together. I've always seen something special in him, and a connectedness between us. And after a year of long distance dating, you would think that I have earned the respect to be exempt from the doubt, but no. People around me continuously doubt my future with this man.. I just can't wait to prove them all wrong.

Means spending the weekend alone in your underwear, sitting in bed, browsing the internet. And if that means I get to be with you at some point - at any point - for any given amount of time, I’m okay with that.

To Colin Kaepernick: I didn't really care about you before. I thought that you were actually pretty cool. When people said that you were trash just because of your tatoos, I thought that you didn't diserve it. I was wrong. First, you disrespect our QB on our field and then on Twitter. I just wanted to tell you that I'll be praying for sacks and interceptions next week. I could talk shit about the way you speak (and that speaks volume coming from me because I'm French, and even I can hear it...), the fact that your pet is a turtle or that you've got the swagger of a rapper from the 90's; but I'm just gonna stay classy and wait for you to lose next week.

To Cam Newton: Man, what a season. I still remember Skip Bayless saying that Tim Tebow was a better passer than you. (haha I know right...). And all these "analysts" saying that you couldn't be a leader... Anyway, you are the face of the Carolina Panthers. You made this season special and thank you for that. 

To Greg Hardy: Kraken, when you ask for your paycheck, If you love the Carolinas and your coach as much as your pretend, please remember that you got 6 sacks against the worst O-Lines in the league and couldn't get a single one against one of the better. Yet, I want you to stay a Panther. Have a good off-season in Hogwarts.

To Mike Shula: I'm sorry. No hard feelings but I just can't tell you "see you next year". I wish you the best, just not with the Panthers.

To Smitty: You did your best and that's all we asked from you. Just hang on for one-two more season(s) please.

To the Panthers fans: We all knew. Our team exceeded expectations, and witnessing the return of the Cardiac Cats was great. Just one more off-season and we will have a playoffs caliber team for years to come.
