Before & After - I’m so proud of how the closet space turned out. It was originally a place for students to hang backpacks, complete with hooks and a shallow shelf. We took down the doors, stripped the hanging elements, and put in some shelves to turn it into a nice reading/lounge area.
Other teachers at my school started asking to have the closet doors taken out in their classrooms too. This makes sense because the doors were always a pain to open and close (they’re linked together so you can’t just open one at a time - and they’re old and get stuck frequently), plus we have backpack hooks in the hallways anyway.
