I just had a potentially awesome Outer Wilds AU I'm going to write with my Hearthian OC. "What Doesn't Kill You". Basically, the hatchling sustains a lot of injuries during any given loop, so imagine if they slowly adapted to things they went through without dying. Almost drowned, but you made it out? You can now hold your breath for longer. Fell off a rock and barely survived? You're gonna be able to survive a higher fall next time. I'll make a post on here when I get it started, because now I'm invested in it.
