Episode intro- Wow, get this man to the olympics, that is a world class swim.
I knew it was coming, but Jamie, why did you have to marry the worst woman. Literally the worst woman! I agree that trying to burn the love of your life alive as a witch should have been an absolute dealbreaker, Jamie.
Put in timeout by Jenny for exceeding the decibel level for hate sex.
I see Loaghaires craziness hasn’t tempered with age. Thanks Loaghaire for shooting me in the arm to save my marriage! Claire was fixin to walk out. The one thing more powerful than Claire’s anger is her need to doctor.
This nuptial story starts out nice. Christmas decorations, fireplace giving off golden light like a supernova and Jamie dancing with children. Aww he does it for the children. But please spend ten minutes with their mother before marrying her. He does not evidently and marries her anyway. Also Jenny made this match? Does Jenny not know any other 30 year old women with nice kids? I mean, pistol returning, cave seduction Mary shows that Jenny knows some nice ladies that are both hot to trot and morally redeemable.
Ugh, Claire loves giving him a big sharp needle in the butt as punishment. You can see the glint in her eye. She delights in the punishment.
Jenny and Claire- Bff pow-wow. Can we make it work or do we need to return our friendship necklaces ? 👯♀️
Ned! I just love Ned. He is a great character and always so helpful. My love for Ned also bursts its banks because my friend lived with a skinny cat named Ned who looked and sounded like an old, crotchety man and we never tired of exclaiming “Ned!” around him and he would yowl in reply.
I love that lawyers in the 1700s already have the trick where they write down a large sum of money on a piece of paper and slide it across the table rather than saying the number out loud. Human Ned rightfully reports that Jamie’s earlier marriage invalidates his second marriage. L’ is going off the rails but can be bought off with an absurd amount of cash.
Claire and Jaimie have a cliff side fight about very reasonable things, has too much time passed and too much life happened for them to just fall in together again? Loaghaire really is an unforgivable stain on your judgement, Jamie. Claire spouts off about the career, the home, the friends she had in Boston and that perhaps she should have tried to be content with that. Her daughter Brianna is very conspicuously absent from the list of things left behind, because it clearly puts Claire in bad mother territory to bring it up. But it is insane! Even in the 1960s who thinks a 20 year old woman without a job, husband, or college degree does not need a parent in their life??? Her dad is already dead. She is effectively an orphan.
The bad parenting strikes again
Why are they letting this poor kid swim to this island! This was never going to end well, but who expects a tall ship? You knew it wasn’t going to end well because they don’t give him a tiny raft to float the treasure back. Did they think he was going to gilligans island some little treasure barge from that tiny island in order to return? He had no way the complete the mission.
