✦: random headcanon:
two words: mario kart. nothing is below the belt when they play, there are blue fucking shells, there is controller grabbing, there is everything. and both have great coordination and such, and eventually they both begin to just memorize the key sequences until they are worryingly good at a game for children. also teaming up together in marioparty just to be annoying. i feel like artemis is always yoshi.
☮: friendship headcanon:
jason and artemis are SO important to me okay because I honestly feel like they could be such an incredible brother/sister - best friend dynamic. because honestly they are so similar like in robin!jason days, i feel like artemis would be the one to A) notice when he’s angry or upset about something and B) kind of understand how to deal with it because she probably felt the same way when she joined. like you don’t feel comfortable trusting your life with strangers and working in a big team?? i feel you buddy. feel awkward jumping into the role of a previous sidekick who everybody loved?? been there. OKAY but actual headcanon time, I love to imagine they lived in the same area growing up? like gotham slums kids and they maybe lived in the same building and like walked back from school together if it was winter and getting dark because you don’t want to walk through gotham alone and maybe they didn’t even talk but like safety in numbers.
☁: angsty headcanon
artemis hates the memorial of him in the cave. she hates it because to HER, it doesn’t represent what he WAS, what he MEANT. it doesn’t represent how fucking unfair it was that they had to lose him. it just all feels so fake to her, as if its trying to project some ‘holier than thou’ feeling onto her. to remember him, she used to go to a rooftop in gotham, it didn’t really matter which one. because he’d often been the one that she used to watch the sun come up with, and the sun was still rising, so maybe she could forget about the blank space beside her.
☄: lighthearted headcanon
okay this is cheating but we are talking about them talking through emoticon code and i love it. like it starts off as a war to annoy the other, but then they start having honest conversations through them, until they’ve developed their own language. i feel like it would translate into real life too, like they look at each other and go ‘SOMEONE’s feeling a little devil face with maple leaf today’ and like side-eye dick whos just like what the fuck. I ALSO like the idea of them training and running together, maybe away from the team, bc it gets a little overwhelming at times, and artemis gets annoyed working out with like wally or conner bc their powers make it less fun, and dick is like busier so i feel like they just bro it out.
☯: differences headcanon
i think one of the main differences between them is how they approach their missions. like artemis is all about control. if she’s not in SOME FORM of control, she begins to rely on instinct, and her instincts mean shoot to kill, and she’s tried so hard to overrule that with conscious thought, but if she’s fighting for her life it’s hard to reprogram herself. whereas I feel jason is a little more open to being adaptable, and thinking as they go. artemis is more hesitant, as a rule.
