Headcanon: Gods and Death
This headcanon is inspired by a previous one from my other blog [x], where I specify that Aztecs can have their vessel’s killed, but their true forms will eventually return to Mictlán after their earthly death, where, after a while, they can return back to earth if they want to, given the fact that only a God can kill another God for good.
During the conquest and the slaughter, aztecs became weak and had to hide away in their heavens, the only place they could be in now. After having the majority of their worshippers murdered, the Gods weren’t strong enough to go back to earth in their astral forms, and weren’t strong enough to project human forms for themselves. Being Mictlantecuhtli a God of Death, the one and unavoidable Truth, he has one of the strongest Gods left in the Pantheon. He, however, not wanting the rest of the Gods to disappear or be the only one alone on earth, started using his powers and the bones of the fallen warriors he had in Mictlán to create human-like vessels for the Gods. That way, whoever God who dared to go to earth would be able to. These vessels were human in every single way. But, when offered tribute, worship, offerings and sacrifices, the Gods inside those vessels gained more power and so the vessel became stronger. After a while, if there was no more worship, the God would return to a human physical state. It took Mictlantecuhtli decades to create the perfect vessels, so if one of them were destroyed it would take almost the same amount to create a new one or fix the old one. Giving Micte was the one who brought this gift to the Gods, whenever one of them dies their soul returns to Mictlán, and every God knows how hard it is to come out of there by themselves...
Disclaimer: This headcanon was made by me and it only applies for my muses (Xochiquétzal, Xochipilli, Huitzilopochtli and Mictlantecuhtli himself). However, if you want to use this headcanon for your muse it can be arranged, just ask for permission, reblog this post if you want, and we can plot together about it.
You can tell a lot about a person by the music they listen to. Put your playlist on shuffle and list the first 10 songs and tag 10 people.
1. “Ciega, Sordomuda” - Shakira, MTV unplugged 2. “Gold” - Imagine Dragons 3. “Another’s arms” - Coldplay 4. “Birds” - Coldplay 5. “John, El Esquizofrénico” - Calle 13 6. “This is how we do” - Katy Perry 7. “Fix you” - Coldplay (wow that was an abrupt change) 8. “Vuelve por favor” - Mon Laferte, En vivo 9. “Something stupid” - Frank & Nancy Sinatra 10. “Green eyes” - Coldplay
Holy molly that’s... very wild.
