if you were to strip away all harsh elements (oh god, was that a pun about his cryomancy yes it was), kaito nagano is quite literally just an innocent energetic child who just wants his mom (and dad i guess (wow)) to acknowledge his progress and love him and she loves him so much that she would literally give him her heart and by that reasoning all my icons should just be

HOWEVER i'm a bad writer and I absolutely cannot draft a character’s backstory without one element of tragic conflict (hell, kaito’s desire to be acknowledged is enough of a base for huge self-esteem and confidence issues but) so instead we get a lot of

i guess this is just a news flash (freeze) for me, that kaito has come so far as a muse that i can detail these possibilities about his character just as a knee-jerk reaction.
