Daisuke, as he so humbly stated above, is Kaito’s father and the last head of the now scattered Nagano clan. Even among the bloodline’s prodigal shokanshi, Daisuke stood leagues above his relatives and peers. He was a genius in every sense of the word, and quirky and arrogant enough to match that talent. Wonder where Kaito got his attitude from...
Although he could be extremely vain and lazy, Daisuke was a hard worker who wanted nothing more than to uphold the pride of his family name - until he met Chiharu and fell head over geta in love for the Yuki-onna. After failing to court her three times in a row (much to his bewilderment), he finally marched up the frigid mountain that she and her kind made home and sat at the mouth of their cave home, refusing to eat, sleep, or move until she gave him an audience. Following three days and a major case of frostbite, Chiharu finally gave in to his obstinate advances, and the rest is history!
While his extravagant personality mellowed out considerably after marriage and Kaito’s birth, he retained his quirky nature and lazy tendencies, often drawing the ire of his wife.
