Who the heck is my muse anyway: Albert Herrera, formerly Viscount Albert de Morcerf, is a character from Gankutsuou, an anime adaption of The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas. It is different in multiple ways, and so Albert is different from the version of him from the book just the same. He took the leading role in the anime and things changed around that, including two deaths that did not occur in the original novel. Everything that happened has affected Albert in multiple ways, changing him from a naïve, ignorant teenager who believed everyone in the world was good at heart, to a more mature, solemn and peace-seeking young man. The one thing that didn’t change is his empathetic nature and willingness to help those who need it, whether they know they do or not.
Points of interest: Albert is, first and foremost, friendly. He may not be the most social butterfly, but he won’t turn down the chance to become friends with someone, especially if they are a foreigner, which brings me to my second point; Albert is a traveler. As a member of the diplomatic service he travels often and revels in it. He loves learning about different worlds and cultures, finding beauty in each. Thirdly, Albert has trauma in his past that affects him deeply. He does not celebrate his birthday, and summer is a rather melancholic time for him. Often he’ll take on more assignments and paperwork, keeping his mind occupied with other things than memories. This can lead him to overworking and exhausting himself at times.
What they’ve been up to recently: Being set post-series, Albert has been focused on working as a secretary to Earth’s Ambassador, mainly focused on finalizing a peace treaty between Earth and the planet of Janina, while also establishing ties with other worlds across space. He doesn’t often spend time at home with his mother in Marseilles, but visits when he can.
Where to find them: Verse dependant- In his pre-series and series verses he can mostly be found in Paris where he lives with his parents as part of the Parisian nobility. Post-series and modern day can have him be found literally anywhere as his work sends him in various directions across the Earth and space.
Current plans: Just to have fun with Albert and keep Aiden going as well :)
Desired interactions: Gankutsuou is a very small fandom with not many blogs attached to it. There are several characters from the series I would enjoy interacting with, namely Franz and Eugenie, but I realize the chance is rare. In that case I really enjoy doing crossovers, and it’s easy to do. I’ve greatly enjoyed my crossovers with @firxga and @neverparted and am totally open to doing more!
Modern is always an option: Absolutely! I have two potentially modern verses for Albert, one which is just a modernized version of the events of Gankutsuou/CoMC and one which is kind of a Marvel/X-men verse I established with @controlsmetal. Both are open for interactions!
Offered interactions: LITERALLY ANYTHING I am open to everything really, and if I don’t know your fandom I will try and learn as much as I can about it (refreshing my memories of FF has been a ton of fun xD). Just give my About/Rules/Verses a read and should you come up with anything just shoot me a message!
