Team Plasma: Then and Now

Liri was 12 when she had joined Team Plasma. As a completely new grunt, she had high expectations for the team, and at first it proved to be everything she wished for. She looked up to all of the other, more experienced grunts, trying to learn everything she could from them. While Liri did look up to everyone, Lord N and Ghetsis were special. She idolized them, vowing to do whatever it takes to make sure their vision of the ideal world came to light.

Of course, this all changed after the truth was revealed. She doesn’t hate the other grunts of Team Plasma, as they had fallen into the same trap that she did. Everyone deserved a second chance, just like how she was trying to get a second chance from her family. However, third chances were too much. Liri was disgusted by the members of the team and anyone else that decided to join Neo Team Plasma. She also hates the members of the Shadow Triad, Colress, and the Seven Sages, especially Ghetsis. The only sage that Liri cannot bring herself to hate is Rood.

As for Lord N, Liri still idolizes him. She would walk until the ends of the earth for him.

Oh man, it’s been a while since I’ve been in a group. Anyways, I’m Lia, and some of you may know me already! First time I joined this group was two years ago (I think) with this very muse but had to drop out because I was too busy with trying to get into university. Now that I’m done with my first year of uni and I’m doing absolutely nothing during the summer, I can finally write again! Please be nice to me if I’m a bit rusty at first, the only thing I wrote within the past year that wasn’t equations was the report I BSed for my technical report writing class.

The thing I mainly want to focus on now is Liri’s character development, whether that’s through threads or drabbles. She is currently a very anxious child with an angsty past and I want to see whether I can get her to her happy ending or possibly just ruin her life even more. Either way, I’m here for a good time, and not necessarily a long time as my second year starts again in September.

As I said: I’m mainly focusing on character development. Because of this I would like to ask that all threads should be able to contribute to this, and not just be pointless threads. When in doubt, just message me! As well, shipping is not entirely out of the question, as it could be a possible happy ending for Liri, but it is not a priority for me. What I usually notice with shipping is that it takes a long time and then ends up going nowhere.

Pokémon Fears

There are two types of Pokémon that Liri is terrified of: psychic-type Pokémon and wild Pokémon.

During her travels, Liri found that wild Pokémon tended to be erratic. Some of them were perfectly friendly, others that were more shy avoided people in general. To be more specific, Liri feared the angry ones. They were the ones that attacked for no reason, or the ones that could be provoked with the slightest movement. Not being very good at battling, she always felt like it would be the end of her every time she was attacked by a wild Pokémon.

Psychic-types were a whole different story. It was an irrational fear she had, knowing that many Psychic-types that could be really nice. In general, it was her philosophy that there was no such thing as a bad Pokémon, but Liri still tried to keep her distance from that one particular type. Something about them just set her off edge and made her feel like they could read her mind...

Catching Pokémon

When it comes to catching Pokémon, Liri has no luck whatsoever. It’s not even just luck, she just doesn’t know how to properly throw a Pokéball at a wild Pokémon.

None of her Pokémon have been caught by her. Purrsephone had been with her ever since she could remember, and so Liri doesn’t remember when the Purrloin (currently a Liepard) came to being her friend. But there was no way that an infant Liri could’ve caught a wild Pokémon. Her Patrat and her Trubbish - both had been released - also weren’t necessarily caught. Patrat had been given to her by another Team Plasma member, and Trubbish was found abandoned by a different trainer.

In a way, Team Plasma also contributed to this factor. She firmly believes that wild Pokémon shouldn’t be caught forcibly; they should stay in the wild and live a happier life there. But even before Team Plasma came along, Liri was always slightly scared of wild Pokémon and how they could jump out and attack at any given moment. That adds even more to her inability to catch Pokémon.

Liri doubts she’ll ever be able to catch one, whether it is a matter of skill or conscience.

Family

Liri’s close family consists of both of her parents and her younger brother. However, she hasn’t seen any of them since she was 12.

Her brother’s name is Luan, and he is four years younger than her. Liri always wanted to be the best big sister to Luan, trying to make herself seem like a hero to him. She was constantly trying to impress him, but for some reason it barely worked. Liri could see that he didn’t look up to her the way she wanted him to, and that he probably saw her more as an annoying older sibling.

Coincidentally, her father’s name is also Luan (her brother was named after him). Just like with her mother, Valmira, Liri barely spoke to either one of them seriously, constantly feeling like they had too many expectations for her. She addressed them as ‘papa’ and ‘mama’, but that was as far as her affection went; otherwise they were practically strangers to her.

Liri’s last interaction with her family, and most importantly her parents, was when she got into a big argument and then ran away for good. She thought that Luan would see her as a hero, and that one day her parents would be proud of what she has accomplished.

To this day, Liri regrets that argument with her parents. She also regrets that she didn’t properly inform them of what she planned on doing, and hopes that one day she will be able to find them again to apologize.
