When I was a child I thought it was unrealistic to show in cartoons the characters wearing the same outfits everyday. Now I’m an adult I’m just like yep. I have 3 versions of the same Jurassic park top I cycle through. I get it.

I'm not saying that killing Thor made Loki 100% aesthetically cooler as a kid but that's exactly what I'm saying.
What a glow up.
*shows back up months later with cold coffee and a stained shirt* Oh hey...taking a break from this boy for a little. I mean, like officially. BUT!!! You can find me over at @shackledspectre where I’m still setting up, but who doesn’t wanna chat with Jacob Marley?

(( Hey guys. I apologize if I haven’t been active in the last few days. I might be going on a semi-hiatus here until further notice and just sticking with work on my personal blog. A lot of stuff has been going on that’s been killing my muse and making it more difficult to enjoy RPing like I used to.
I don’t mean to rant, but right now, I don’t know whether to feel depressed or insulted right now. I know there’s a stigma about female OCs, but when someone uses that to either “call out” a person’s character or judge them personally, then it can be a serious blow to all your hard work, especially if you’ve been working on creating a single character for more than a year. Granted, people are entitled to their opinions, and everyone has the right to choose who they interact with. Not to mention, some people are wary about OC’s to begin with and might only talk to them under certain circumstances. Which is fine. But to be judged more harshly is difficult.
Look guys, I get it. Damaris is a very sexual muse. In fact, she’s perhaps more sexual than the average OC, and in the RP world, that’s very daring. For that reason, some people wouldn’t be comfortable interacting with her, and that’s fine. But please, for the love of God, quit looking at her as some one-dimensional sex doll who only does smut, and quit saying that I use her just to bang other characters.
Before you say that’s how I’m presenting her, let me tell you something. First off, look at the bio. Look at the length of my threads. Look at my artwork, my designs, and all the detail that I use for this RP blog. That shit wasn’t made overnight on a whim. I’ve been working on this muse for over a year. If you know how my muse looked in the beginning, you can tell that Damaris has gone through a HUGE developmental process. She’s become more 3-dimensional and more like a functioning human being than I ever could’ve imagined. I’ve worked very hard for her to be where she is today, and I had to work my ass off to get any canon muses to RP with her. In short, she’s more than just sex. Way beyond that.
Still see her as sexual? Again, Damaris is a sexual muse. But unlike a muse who seems to be overtly sexual for no reason, Damaris’ sexuality has purpose and logic. Damaris doesn’t play by the rules; she’s bold. Unlike most, Damaris is very comfortable with her sexuality. Whereas girls are generally taught to be modest and be ashamed of sex, Damaris embraces it. As a matter of fact, she views it as her gift as a woman in a patriarchal society; seeing that she can use the objectification of women against her human targets, sexuality is her weapon of choice for getting what she needs. It’s the same tactic used by her big idols like Cleopatra. The sexuality fits, and better yet, she doesn’t have to force herself to be that way.
But I don’t do sexual stuff with her 24/7. That’s not the sole purpose of my muse. Yes, I enjoy shipping her with some male characters that I like. But to be honest, it sort of has to be that way, or else the ship drive isn’t there. Am I going to interact with said characters just for a ship/sex though? Fuck no, because unlike how people view my muse for shipping, I don’t do the same. Characters are more than sex. Even to get to that point, there has to be solid platonic chemistry between characters before that point. I don’t do that to other characters, so don’t do the same to her.
Even if I did want to ship, I know my limits and my restrictions. I abide by all rules as best as I can. People are more than just their muses; they aren’t tools. I honor and respect the muns behind the muses, and I take note of their wishes. I avoid all triggers, respect all comfort zones, and keep communication as clear and as open as possible. I do whatever I can to help give my partners a positive experience, all while perhaps getting to know them as good colleagues. And if someone doesn’t want a ship with my character? It’s not the end of the world. We can work with it.
And in spite of all this, people have still shat on my character and dismissed her as a vehicle for sex. Think and say what you want, but I’m here for writing, art, fun and laughter. I’ve done everything that I can to be a good RPer. I’m not a perfect woman, and neither is my muse. But I do whatever I can.
My mums cat pulled this face and let me tell you I was in hysterics as this antisocial cat stared at me in deep concern
The internet has ruined me tbh. I work with someone called Ebenezer and all I can think of when I see his name is ‘She Eb on my Nezer till I Scrooge’ and there are 0 other colleagues I can share that with.
I had never been interested in standees before ✨them✨
