I started watching this documentary called "Outrage" about conservative, anti-gay, gay politicians.
Thing is, it's starting off with the outing of this guy named Senator Larry Craig. The outing happened a while back--the documentary didn't do the outing. I always think it's terrible to out people, but is it different in this instance?
Senator Craig routinely voted against freedoms and protections for MGSRI (marginalized gender sexual and romantic identities) people, from gay marriage to workplace discrimination protection to hate crime protection. In more than one instance, his vote was the deciding vote which cast aside protections. (He would also not treat the men he slept with very nicely, though that's a side issue.)
When someone is this powerful a force against MGSRI equality, do they deserve the same privacy and protections as the average closeted person?
