rewatched the scene in which peter tells carla about the affair and the way she says “i know how much i loved you, but no, i don’t know how much you loved me, the only conclusion i can come to is that you!! didn’t!! love!! me!! AT ALL!!” is so heart wrenching. the fact that you can hear the pain in her voice, that pain when you’ve been betrayed by someone you love DEEPLY. but it’s more than that, it’s someone who feels like a soulmate, someone you’re confident you could go through hell and back with because they’d never drop your hand. and having that sense of safety shattered is hell and ali king is just immensely talented
