locked in so bad im SWEATING
there’s kind of a dismissal in the way sukuna lives, like he’s just living a little out of spite, just going through the motions day by day and only amused when he finds something interesting for himself. he lives because people want to kill him or wish he was dead or find him to be a monster or a murderer or all the other things in the world and he entertains himself until death comes for him but he refuses to die quietly. he doesn’t even know how to die quietly. people who fought to live never do.
might be literally almost crying over a Edda Aven angst fic idea hweeeeerg
okay so they kill worldless right. And Aven does that thing he does at the end of the game. Yknow. die. no words, no goodbye, he throws himself in front of the spear and he’s gone. his body is still there so there’s not even plausible deniability, Edda clutches his lifeless form in her arms and screams, sobs, begs for him to come back but he can’t. he’s gone. her world, her best friend, her lover, the only one that ever mattered, is gone.
the starfolk gain sentience and begin talks of peace. a civilization, probably somewhat modern, builds itself around her in the background.
and she has to go on without him. she has to walk alone to find things to do, she has to fall asleep without his touch, pull herself together without his words. she has to talk to people and make new friends who have to work tirelessly to understand her in a fraction of a way he could effortlessly. she tries and fails to convince herself that he’s always with her because he isn’t. his words, his voice, his actions cannot reach her. she’s saved the world at the cost of her own.
but eventually, she has to accept is. painfully, slowly, she comes to terms with it. she builds herself back up, still broken, still so much less than what she was. but she lives. and finally accepts it.
she tells herself he’ll always be with her. that’s what he’d want her to feel.
and that brings him back.
they’re still connected, still intertwined souls, a very small piece of him is in her. and when she truly, genuinely, really believes that he is still with her. that’s enough to spark belief into reality.
I would write it but I think I’d die
going insane about legion once more. Legionposting might be in the future...
