“ did you know she was still alive for all of this time? ” fareeha’s gaze narrows as she stares down the old man, trembling hands balled into fists at her side. “ because i didn’t. you can stop making excuses for her now. she told me that she did not want me to fight, to take after her path in life --- but i did. i was in the army, i fought for peace and justice. in her honour. but now i know it was for a false belief. she is no hero! a hero does not abandon their only child. ” it’s taking everything in her to refrain from letting tears fall.
