REQUEST: Can I request a Damien x reader where she's a dancer and somehow loses the just dance competition and everybody teases her saying she did on purpose just so she could do the romantic duet with Damien, which they do, it's very cute and the fans go cRAZY OVER IT? - anon
You laughed to a joke Courtney had told you, the directions for the start of this live stream being to, “Act natural.” Going as natural as you could get, you had struck up a conversation with Courtney while half laying across Damien’s lap and the rest over Shayne’s. You faked a caught-in-the-headlights look as Joven fake scolded you and informed you that they were live. You sat up and quickly fixed your hair before clasping your hands together and then opening them wide.
“Hello! And welcome to another Just Dance video!”
Everyone around you broke out in cheers, Shayne turning his body only slightly towards you before letting out a horrific scream. You shoved a pillow in his face and he let himself be pushed off the couch by you.
“So, you know the game and you know the rules. We have two v two until we get to the two losers at the end who have to do a romantic dance together at the end,” you wiggled your shoulders which caused a chain reaction of everyone wiggling their shoulders. In all honesty, you all looked ridiculous.
Damien picked up the script from there, being the first to stop his wiggles. “Now, I know what you’re saying, ‘But it’s not Halloween!’ and yes, you’re right, it is not Halloween. Instead, it is a random day in the middle of August but we’re just here to give the people what they want.”
“And today, we’ve got Noah, Keith, Olivia, Courtney, Shayne, Damien, Y/n, Ian, Lasercorn, Mari, Wes, and myself here today!” Joven announced, pointing at each member as their names were called. “We have all our names in a hat and we will be drawing names to see who will go against who.”
Joven picked up the hat and held it out to Mari. She stuck her hand in and looked in the opposite direction. She pulled the slip from the hat and opened up the folded piece of paper. “Courtney!” she read out loud, passing the slip of paper to Joven.
“Alright, Mari and Courtney!”
Everyone cheered for the two girls and watched as they danced to the song of choice and cheered on when they both finished. Mari got a higher score, as expected but Courtney wasn’t too far behind.
Noah pulled a slip next, surprisingly getting Keith’s name pulled. “Koah is real, y’all,” Keith bragged going to hug the other boy. You laughed and took the iPad with the comments flooding in. Everyone was using the hashtag, ‘KoahisReal,’ and you couldn’t help but laugh and lean over to show Damien the screen.
Shayne and Olivia went right after them, doing the most awkward rendition of the song that had been chosen. Olivia had gotten the higher score of the two, mainly because Shayne gave up halfway through when it was evident that Olivia was going to win either way.
Since you had the iPad, you updated the scores and used the short break in between the dances to read and answer questions that the fans had commented.
Damien was next, he picked up the hat and stuck his hand in. You held your breath in anticipation and you honestly could say you were a little disappointed when he drew Wes’s name. You watched them dance, Damien more than Wes, and was shocked when Damien got the lowest score out of everyone.
Ian and Joven danced next and you new that would leave you and Lasercorn. Ian won, to nobody’s surprise. You passed the iPad off to Shayne and stood up to stretch and playfully psych Lasercorn out.
Now, Lasercorn was known to be a decent dancer but you were trained in most forms of dance starting from a very young age. So imagine the surprise on just about everyone’s faces when you not only lost to Lasercorn but also rang in at the lowest score of the night.
When Joven announced the scores, a smirk slipped onto his face as he realized what had happened. “I think Y/n lost on purpose so she could dance with Damien over here.”
Your cheeks grew instantly warm, your lips battling a smile as you protested the idea. You stated that you were rusty as you hadn’t danced in a while which was true. You watched on the monitor set up as the fans started to text-scream about you and Damien. You had to tear your eyes away from the screen to even continue with the stream.
The rest of the cast started to poke fun at you good-naturedly, mentioning how they had seen you hanging around Damien more often and that being rusty was a bold-faced excuse.
Of course, being rusty was an excuse but it got you where you wanted to be so you couldn’t be upset about it.
Once the teasing had died down you walked to meet Damien on the dance floor and took the phone the was offered to you so you could play the game. The second the music started playing, you started to dance along to the characters.
When the time came for you both to step closer to each other and for him to rest his hands on your waist, your breath hitched and you gave what could have been a shy smile if the rest of you weren’t so nervous.
The second the song ended, with you in Damien’s arms and you both breathing pretty heavily, Joven started to say the outro. Throughout the whole time, Damien hadn’t once let go of his arms around you and you decided right there that you enjoyed the feeling. Maybe even enjoyed it a little too much as your head grew light and you grew even giddier.
The cameras cut and that’s when his arms fell from being around you to him just holding your hand. Your cheeks flared once again and you had to fight to contain the squeal you oh-so desperately wanted to hold in.
“So, you wanna go for dinner?”
Mostly everyone had left already as it was the end of the day. They all either went to their desks to pick up their things or to Matt Raub who had called certain people to talk to after filming.
You turned to him and smiled cheekily, “I would love to go for dinner.”
REQUEST: Can you do a Shayne x reader where they are filming you posted that and bring in the readers favorite actor (Tom Holland) and she is like fangirling and can't talk right and blushing and stuff and Shayne gets jealous but like it's really fluffy and cut in the end - anon
“You Posted That. Embarrassing things from your past. Instagram, Twitter, or Snapchat, you posted that!”
You watched from backstage as your boyfriend, Shayne Topp, introduced the show. You knew that it would be you and Joven on the show today, but the third person was being kept from you.
You wiped your sweaty palms on your jeans, nervous to play the game and to find out who they managed to get onto the show. Joven came up next to you and slung his arm around your shoulders. You managed to give him half a smile that turned into more of a grimace.
“You nervous, Y/n?” Joven asked like the father he was. He was your work dad since the first day you started here and he had also quickly become one of your best friends.
“Yeah,” you rubbed your hands together and then on your jeans again. “I just don’t want to make a fool of myself to whoever they bring on.”
Ian walked up next to the both of you, taking a sip of water before dropping it at the table by his things. “You guys ready?”
“As I’ll ever be,” you muttered, unzipping your hoodie and taking it off to drape it over a chair.
Shayne introduced Ian to the stage, prompting him to smile wide and step out from behind the set-piece they stood behind. “Hello, everybody!” Ian greeted the audience. Joven had left you by then, leaving to go get his mic checked after he had pulled a little too hard at the wire.
You wished you had gone with him even if it was only a minute that he was gone. Your nerves were starting to take over and many of the nervous ticks you had begun to show. Not only were you picking at the bottom of your shirt, but you were also biting down harder than you needed to on your lip. You had to remind yourself to breathe so you didn’t go on stage with a busted lip and a half torn shirt.
“Now, let’s meet our lovely contestants,” Ian spoke, causing you to straighten out your back. “First, we have one of our esteemed cameramen, or should I say, camerawomen. She’s filmed many of our videos for us and, according to her, was an extra for a Spider-Man movie, Y/n Y/l/n!”
You plastered a smile on your face as you stepped out from behind the setpiece, waving at the audience. You stopped at the first podium you came upon and blew a kiss towards the audience before winking at them.
You heard their screams and giggled slightly, hands coming to rest on either side of the podium. You listened as Ian introduced Joven, clapping politely for the man that almost couldn’t see the fine print. He stood at the podium at the other end, causing you to question what was happening. Usually, Joven would stand next to you as the second contestant but the new format had you gripping the sides of the podium tighter.
“And finally, we have a man of many talents including acting, dancing, and causing Y/n to have some sort of fit every time she sees him, Tom Holland!”
When Tom Holland stepped out from behind the set-piece, you looked Ian dead in the eye with a look that read, You better start running.
It wasn’t that you hated Tom Holland, you loved him. In fact, you would probably have fainted if it weren’t for the fact that you were currently filming. Instead, you stared at him with your mouth slightly gaped during the time that Ian was explaining the rules.
“Y/n, you okay?” Ian had a shit-eating grin on his face and you wanted to slap it off him.
You shook your head and cleared your throat, “Yeah, fine. I’m totally fine.”
You focused upfront, ready to play the game, “Let’s do this. I’m ready.”
“Alright, let’s jump into round one,” Ian turned to Shayne.
“You posted that?” They both shouted in high pitched voices.
As the game flew by, you couldn’t help but be constantly starstruck by the man standing next to you. You were tripping over your own words and hiding in embarrassment that he had to see the one thirst tweet that they had found. It read:
“Tom Holland could punch me straight across the face and I’d thank him.”
To that, he responded: “I’d never punch you, darling.”
You wanted to either cry in a corner or hide away forever.
When you had approached the end of the show, you in the lead, you knew what they had planned couldn’t have been good. You glanced over at Shayne, who had been staring in the direction of you and Tom.
“Much like when we had Chris Pratt on the show, the winner will be slow dancing with our one and only Tom Holland!”
You wished the ground would open up and swallow you. Not only have your worst tweets and Instagrams been put out to the world, but they were also out there in front of your celebrity crush and your boyfriend who no doubt was feeling a lot of things at the moment.
“Ian,” you started, pointing at the man. “You better sleep with one eye open tonight.”
He immediately pulled Shayne to stand in front of him, an ongoing joke between the two of you and declared war.
When you were announced the winner, it was no surprise. Tom and yourself walked to the middle of the room and a slow song was put on. He held out a hand to you and you accepted it awkwardly.
In an attempt to break the ice, you shared that you had been in Homecoming.
“You were?”
“Yeah, I was an extra during the scene where Peter is looking at Liz hanging up the banner for Homecoming. I walked right past her and then sat at a table towards the back.”
“So we’ve been in a movie together,” he cocked an eyebrow.
“We have,” you giggled nervously. The music stopped and you both separated. Shayne had moved during the duration of the dance so that he would be right next to you when the music stopped. He slung an arm over your shoulder and you pinched him lightly, a signal to stop acting the way he was.
Ian said the outro, everyone celebrating on the stage as the cameras cut and you were pulled into a corner by Shayne.
He kissed the side of your head, hugging you close. You poked his side, a cheeky grin creeping onto your face. “Were you jealous, babe?”
He brushed it off, hugging you close. “No,” he insisted. “I would never be jealous of Spider-Man.”
“It’s okay to be jealous, Shayne,” you kissed his cheek. “As long as it doesn’t go past here.”
He kissed you, arms sliding from around your shoulders to come to rest on your hips. Your hands went up to cup his face, bring him in closer. When you separated, he was looking out at Tom who had been socializing with your friends the entire time.
“Okay, maybe I was a little bit jealous,” he admitted as the two of you started to walk back over to rejoin your friends.
“There’s no need to be,” you squeezed his hand before bringing it up to your lips to leave a kiss there. “You’re all I want, and all I need.”
Request: Can you please do a Joven x reader soulmate au - anon
A/N: I would like u all to know that my wonderful betas pulled some grade A editing on this for yall so give them some love, their acc will be tagged at the end!
Waking up with a burning chest and other parts was not how you wanted to start your day. It felt like you had been newly waxed and you fought the urge to write on your skin to make sure your soulmate was okay. You had settled long ago that you wouldn’t reach out to them unless your life depended on it. The amount of pain they had caused you already was an as good sign if any to keep your distance.
Your friends had theorized that your soulmate was apart of the army or whatever but you knew it couldn’t be. The injuries had never been too severe, mainly blunt force from being hit with blunt objects. You watched as letters formed on your arms, spelling out, “Hey, sorry for that. I just got my chest waxed for a punishment video.”
Excuses almost always came like that, which is also how you knew he wasn’t in the army. The excuse was always video-based and you got tired of the constant repetition.
You walked to the sink and scrubbed at the words until they faded to nothing. The ink swirled down the drain as you pat your arm dry. It was time for you to get ready for work, having been offered a job as a video editor for a company that labeled itself as, “Mythical.”
After doing some research on them, you came to the decision that you’d stay with them through the year-long contract but you’d search for something better the entire time you worked with them. You liked the company but you didn’t know if this was something you’d be willing to do forever.
You took the bus that morning, seeing as your car was still in the shop after a hit and run busted your trunk door. You thanked whatever deity was up there that the damage hadn’t been too extensive. Having a totaled car was the last thing you needed after the unfortunate string of bad luck you had been having.
When you had arrived at the building, you stood in front of it for a solid five minutes digging around in your bag for the temporary keycard you had been given to actually get past security in the building’s lobby. You rolled your eyes as you realized it was left hanging on your wall hooks along with your car keys, which you hadn’t grabbed due to the unfortunate event.
“Do you work here?” A man approached you from behind and your hand curled around the pepper spray you had in your bag. You internally screamed. How had you remembered to pack pepper spray and not your keycard?
You stood up straight and zipped up your bag, flashing a smile at the man. He was tall with brown hair, the fringe dyed blue, but he looked like he wouldn’t hurt a fly. “Yeah, I work here,” you smiled at him. “I was hired last week as an editor at Mythical.”
A look of realization flashed across his face, “Yeah, you’re actually working with us. We needed another editor after our last left and so we put out an ad through Mythical. I’m Damien, by the way.”
You introduced yourself and walked into the building with him, becoming more and more confused as he continued to talk. The two of you breezed by security, making a beeline for the elevator.
“Sorry, can we backtrack? Who is, ‘We’?”
“Were you never told who you were working with?”
“No, just that I got a job as an editor for a YouTube brand under Mythical,” you played with the straps on your bag.
“Oh,” he stepped aside to let people out of the elevator before stepping in. “Well, we are called Smosh and you’ll be working with a specific branch of Smosh called Smosh Games. You’ll essentially be taking footage from the board games we do and edit those. Eventually, if you work here longer than a year, you’ll start working on the video game videos and maybe you’ll get the chance to appear in some videos for extra pay.”
“Oh, well I’m not really planning on staying here for longer than a year,” you said awkwardly. “This job was an interim job for me, I used to work for another media company that went under last year.”
“Did you work for Altos?”
“Yeah, my friend had her YouTube channel under them but then they went under so she’s been shoddily trying to get her team back together. I’m editing a few things but it wouldn’t be enough to get by.”
The elevator door opened in front of you, signifying the end of the conversation.
“I’ll show you to the editor’s room and let Ian know you’re here,” Damien left the elevator first with you quick to follow.
You walked behind him, taking in the open space and the office desks laid out in a casual manner. There were office and meeting rooms that branched off from the middle and another open area that looked like a kitchen space within the office. Damien took a left and a right before ending up in front of a room decked with technology up to the ceiling.
“This is where the editors work and where we keep some of our recording cameras while we clean out the closet we usually store them in.”
“It looks nice,” you observed, looking around the room through the glass door. “Is anyone here right now?”
He looked around, “No, I think most are out for lunch but that desk over there is yours. It’s the old editor’s space but it’s all yours now!”
You thanked him and went into the room by yourself. You sat at the desk that he had pointed out to you and started to mess around on the computer. You soon found out that you needed a login to get into the computer and gave up on trying to get in without a password.
Pulling out your own laptop, you started to work on the two hours of footage your friend had sent you. Since her parent company got shut down, she’s been trying to rebuild her team on her own. As her previous editor, you told her that you’d help when you can, or at least until she could find full-time editor. It also helped that her mother was filthy rich and she wouldn’t have had any problems otherwise.
This was the last video you were going to edit for her, getting a hefty paycheck that would go towards a month of rent and two months of groceries. After that, she would have to look for a permanent editor that she could keep on payroll herself.
You were ripped from your daydream by a sharp pain on the back of your left arm. You pulled up your sleeve and watched as your skin separated from itself and fresh blood pearled on the surface of your skin. You rolled your eyes before pulling your bag up onto your lap to look for the bandaids you brought around with you in case your soulmate got hurt during the day.
You heard the door open behind you and you spun around with your arm in the air and a bandaid in your mouth. You waved at the man who had entered with your free hand before taking the bandaid from your mouth and opening it.
You reached out with your right hand and shook it, “Hi, I’m Y/n Y/l/n.”
He shook it, introducing himself as Ian Hecox. “What’s up with your arm?”
You half-rolled your eyes, pulling your sleeve back over your arm. “My soulmate cut themselves, today has just been full of pain.”
He nodded in understanding, “Yeah, my soulmate used to get hurt all the time.”
You took note of his use of the past tense and decided to move on from that. “So I’m here for a year, what’s the gist of what I’ll be doing with you guys?”
“You’ll be introduced to the rest of the editing team as they trickle in, but you actually joined in the middle of Smosh Summer Games. Or at least, you joined in the middle of releasing all the videos from that filming period.”
“So what are the videos I’ll be editing for this period?”
“We have some Maricraft episodes where Mari, Courtney, Damien, and Shayne play Minecraft along to a sort of storyline, but you won’t be editing those. We’ll have you just take note of the editing style for them,” he explained, shifting his weight. “We’ll have you work on editing the Spelling Bee-Kini Wax video as that was what the old editor was supposed to take care of.”
You were about to ask about the spelling bee-kini wax when three people walked into the room.
“Perfect timing!” Ian clapped once. “Y/n, these are a few of our editors. Spencer, Mike, and Kevin.”
You looked at where he pointed and gave them each a smile.
“They’ll help you out from here on out and hopefully they’ll convince you to stay for longer than a year!”
You gave him a thumbs up and watched as he disappeared out the door.
“Let’s get you started with a log-in, yeah?” Kevin waved you over to your computer. “So you should already be in the system so it should be the first letter of your first name and four letters of your last name. The current password should be SMOSH:NEWEDITOR, no spaces, all caps, and it’ll tell you to change it when you log in.”
You typed out the username and password, sitting back to wait while the computer-processed everything. “So what’s the rest of the schedule today?”
“I’ll probably have you go down with Spencer to sit in the editors cave while a video is filmed so you can see what it’s like, I’m pretty sure a Smosh Games video is being filmed at this moment with Joven, Shayne, Damien, Lasercorn, Wes, Courtney, and Mari.”
You blinked, not sure of who the people listed were. Kevin took note of your confused look and laughed a little bit, “I know the names are off-putting but Spencer will introduce you when you get down there.”
“Okay,” you grabbed a notebook from your bag and followed Spencer out of the room.
“So, what’s this video for?”
“I’m not completely sure, I know that we’re just trying to get some content with Joven and Wes in before they leave for a bit,” Spencer fiddled with the pen in his hand.
“You’ll tell me who’s who when we get in there, right?” you nervously ran your finger over the exposed pages of your notebook, the feeling of the rifling papers calming you ever-so-slightly.
“Of course,” he reassured you. “I wouldn’t let you walk in blind.”
When you got to the set doors, you didn’t have much time to take in what the set actually looked like before you felt a sharp pain on your back. You stood frozen for a little bit under a full minute, taking in the pain that you had to endure. Spencer noticed you had stopped walking and turned back to ask what was wrong.
“I think my soulmate just got slapped on the back like really hard,” you were trying to roll out the pain by moving your shoulders back and around. “I bet I have a handprint mark on my back now.”
You knew you were coming off of bitter and resentful, but you couldn’t help it. So far that day, your soulmate had gotten waxed in two very sensitive areas, stabbed themselves in a very visible area, and gotten slapped by what seemed to be a giant not even two seconds ago.
“It’s whatever, I’ve survived with this soulmate for this long. It’s not as bad as a lot of other people have it,” you shook off the pain and followed Spencer into what was known on set as the Editor’s Den.
He introduced you to the video’s director, Matt Raub, who Spencer also mentioned was the acting Vice President of Smosh. He introduced you to the camera crew, though you barely managed to concentrate on the names that flew by as your soulmate managed to stub their toe.
Now that you thought about, there was a thought that the pain that your soulmate feels gets stronger the closer in proximity that you both get. If it was any consolation, the amount of pain you were feeling meant your soulmate was within slapping distance.
That was the soulmate loophole, you didn’t feel any pain you caused to your soulmate. Which meant you could slap whoever your soulmate was without feeling anything.
“Spencer, I might have to kill my soulmate,” you rubbed your temples to ward off the headache you felt coming. It’s a good thing was that if you got a migraine, your soulmate would feel it too. “How is it humanly possible for someone to get hurt this many times in such a short amount of time?”
“I don’t know, but the cast has arrived!”
He introduced you to the cast members but you focused in on the bandaid the man called, “Joven,” had on his left arm in the same spot you had yours in.
You smiled and introduced yourself, careful not to reveal anything to the person that could possibly be your soulmate. If you had finally found him after thirty years of pain and he was definitely within slapping distance, you could wait another hour or so more to confront him about it.
You sat in the corner with Spencer, taking notes along with him. During the filming break, he went over things that you should look out for while watching the filming. You turned the page and pull your hand back in shock at the sudden pain from the paper.
“Do you have a bandaid, Spencer? I left all mine back in the room,” you were tempted to suck on your cut but you knew it would most likely end up in an infection.
“No, but Joven usually keeps bandaids on him. He’s really accident-prone,” Spencer answered, not even looking up from his notes.
You looked around the room in search of Joven, or otherwise known as your supposed soulmate, and saw him standing by a chair near the back of the room. He was tending to the small papercut on his own hand that you had caused.
“Hey,” you greeted him. “Spencer said you had bandaids? I usually have some in my bag but I left it back in the editing room.”
“Yeah,” he replied without looking up. He passed you a small bandaid, you didn’t know if it was a coincidence or if he didn’t have any regular sized bandaids. He finally looked up at you and then down at where you were applying the adhesive strip.
“Hey, did you just do that to yourself?” he asked, looking the slightest bit confused.
“I did,” you replied. “Gave myself a papercut on my editing notebook.”
He pointed at and poked the bandaid on the back of your left arm. “What about that?”
You recoiled slightly, falling back into yourself. “No, my soulmate cut themselves earlier.”
This was the moment of truth, if he was your soulmate then he would use this to reveal him as so. You watched as he rolled up his left sleeve, a bandaid in a similar spot.
“No way,” he said in astonishment. “Wait, let me grab a marker.”
You grinned in amusement as he sauntered across the room in search of a marker. When he had found one, he raised it triumphantly above his head and made his way back over to you.
He uncapped the pink marker and asked you to hold out your left arm. “What should I write?”
You shrugged, “Just write your name or something.”
You watched as he wrote his name, Joshua, on his own arm and the both of you watched as the ink also appeared on your arm as well.
“You’re my soulmate?” he questioned. You were confused, you thought this moment was supposed to be the climax of your life, the moment you’d been waiting for so long.
“I am,” you were taken aback. This was the opposite of whatever reaction you thought you would be getting. “Is something wrong?”
“It’s just,” he stammered. “How come you never responded to me? The messages I would send you would just disappear.”
“I did respond to you, I responded to you for fifteen years and then fifteen years later you told me you were getting married and so I said my congratulations,” you were angry at him. Not for getting married, no, being soulmates didn’t mean you had to be romantically involved with them. It just meant that your two souls were the ones that were infused together when the world had begun and they would find each other through every rebirth. Some people do end up together but in most cases, soulmates stayed as the closest friends and it was their bond that kept them close.
“I started washing the messages away for personal reasons,” you said. You were rethinking everything up to this point in your life. “Maybe we shouldn’t have even met, our link had turned before we even met.”
When a link between soulmates turned, it meant that the souls combining the two were weak. This usually happened with souls that were so old and reused that no connection is feasible, or if the two people were just incompatible. It seemed that was what this was turning out to be.
“Listen, we don’t know to keep up contact. I know I work here now, but it’s just for the year. You won’t ever have to talk to me,” you reasoned.
“No,” he shook his head. “I might be a little mad but I wouldn’t reject you as a soulmate.”
He opened his arms and engulfed you in a hug, “Our souls haven’t turned and they won’t for a long time. It’s good to know my soulmate isn’t a complete asshole though, and when you feel comfortable enough, I hope you can tell me the reasons why you had stopped responding.”
“Maybe, but we have forever to talk now.”

REQUEST: Can you do a Joven x reader with prompt 46 as like a smosh ganes goes to Disney or Harry Potter world and the reader is new but tags along and Joven finally warms up to them? - anon
You didn’t know what you did but as you sat in the van on the way to Disney, you were feeling less than the happiest you’ve been in a while. You might have just been being sensitive but when everyone but one person had welcomed you with open arms, you were less than thrilled.
Joven, one of the older members of Smosh Games, hadn’t been as keen to meet you or even warm up to you in the two weeks you had been here. You had heard about how friendly everyone would be and it was just a downer when one person seemed to not like you very much.
You shook it off, however, because you were going to Disney with the people you had quickly become fast friends with.
The way you had started to work for Smosh was not much unlike how Damien had, you were a low-level video editor for a company that didn’t give two shits about their employees and you had met Courtney when she put out a private ad for a part-time video editor. Long story short, Courtney hired you and you became more friends than having a boss-worker relationship and she recommended you to Smosh.
They hired you as an editor but you soon started to appear in videos for Smosh Pit and occasionally acting as an extra for regular Smosh comedy sketches. It wasn’t until Smosh Summer Games that you had really met anyone from Smosh Games. Up until then, you only knew them from seeing their faces in the gaming content you got to edit.
Now, you were sat in a packed white van with those members. While the squad was off filming at an outdoor location, you had been scheduled to film a type of vlog at Disney.
Well, the choice was between a day at the office and Disney and the latter won the vote. Obviously.
You were sat between Mari and Damien, talking softly with the both of them. The rest of the crew were wrapped up in their own conversations, taking no notice when you asked Mari and Damien the question that had been harping at your mind for hours.
“Does Joven not like me?”
Mari stopped her snacking, her hand halfway into a chip bag. Her hand came out of the bag and she wiped her hand on a tissue, a worried look taking over her features. “No, he does like you. Why do you ask?”
“I don’t know, he just doesn’t give me the vide that he likes me very much,” you shook your head. “Sorry, ignore me.”
Damien closed his book, using his finger to bookmark his page. “No, this is a totally valid worry. I know Joven can seem offputting but there’s no doubt that he likes you.”
“I just feel like the way I joined was really unconventional and I don’t wanna seem like I’m intruding or,” you trailed off, biting your lip.
Mari put her hand on your thigh and patted it, reassuring you that you were not intruding and that they were all happy to have you there. She went back to eating her chips, “Besides if Joven really didn’t like you he would make it known by actually telling you. He’s not very good at hiding his hatred.”
While what Mari had told you had put you more at ease, you still liked to think the worse. When you had all gotten to Disney and practically stumbled out of the van, you had accidentally stumbled into Wes who then bumped into Joven, causing Joven to stare at both of you incredulously. It wasn’t a bad look, per se. It was just not the look you would’ve wanted.
When you were in the park, you were sent into two different groups in order to capture as much footage for the day that would probably result in a roughly five-minute video after all the boring content like waiting in line and walking had been cut out.
After deciding to stay with Mari and the groups had separated, you felt a sinking feeling in your stomach as you looked at Joven who stood there with his bucket hat and glasses, staring in the direction of the sun. Mari then proceeded to link arms with you and skip towards the man staring defiantly into the sun.
“Where to first?”
By the end of the day with both cameras on red, you had piled back into the car. You felt better about everything, considering you had somehow gotten stuck sitting in the same row as Joven.
It was you and Joven in the back, Wes and Damien in the middle, and Mari and Courtney in the front. The case of water that had taken up a seat was gone now which allowed you all to spread out. You almost considered how you all had drunk so much water that day before remembering the other van that held some of the crew members that had gone with you all in lieu of the squad.
You were quiet for a few minutes before Matt Raub had announced that you would be pulling over to get gas. You watched as the van pulled up to the pump and everyone piled out once again. Everyone decided the buddy system would be your best bet, Mari and Courtney heading off to the bathrooms and Damien and Wes immediately booking it for the gas-station snacks.
You and Joven had settled on a slow walk around the station, neither of you really hungry or really needing to use the bathrooms. You talked a little bit about Joven’s time with Smosh though he hadn’t really seemed to want to talk at all. You eventually stopped talking and just enjoy the walk you were sharing together.
As you rounded the corner, you saw everyone piling back into the van and you started getting anxious. “They better not fucking leave us or I swear Matt Raub is gonna face some legal charges.”
You heard a chuckle come from your side and you turned your head to see a man with an infectious smile on his face. Your face fell slack as you stared at him in awe. “Have I entered an alternate universe or did you really just crack a smile for me?”
He shook his head, the smile still stuck on his face. “What could you possibly mean?”
You threw your hands up in the air and let out a noise that slightly resembled a cat being strangled. “I went this whole day thinking that you hated me!”
“What?” he looked at you like you were insane. “Why would you think I hated you?”
“I don’t know you seemed so distant and you were kind of avoiding me a whole lot,” you shook your head. “And I was way overthinking things and blowing them wildly out of proportion.”
“Well now that that’s cleared up, what do you say to running to catch our friends because Matt Raub might actually leave us here,” Joven pointed at the van that was slowly pulling up to the exit area. You swore under your breath, cursing Matt Raub and all that he stood for before hiking up your shorts and dashing off toward the van with Joven not that far behind you.
You crashed into the side, hands pressed firmly on the back passenger seat window. So what you might’ve scared Courtney into another life, they would not be leaving without you two. Not with your phone dead and your power bank in the car. No way.
You heard Matt laugh and unlock the car door allowing you to slide it open. You shot the man a look that read, I will kill you and everyone you’ve ever come to love.
You and Joven clambered into the very back, everyone refusing to move back to allow you getting in any easier.
“We thought you were both asleep in the back,” came the excuse. You knew that if they actually thought that, they would’ve been long gone by then.
“I’m quitting,” came Joven’s sarcastic response, a playful venom in his words. You knew that you’d all joke about how you and Joven nearly got left at a gas station in the future so you let it slide, settling into the back seat for the long drive home.
You plugged your phone in and the second it came back to life, you groaned out in what only could be described as misery. “Fuck,” you swore, furiously typing on your small illuminated keypad.
“What’s wrong?” Joven lent over to read your screen and you let him.
“My roommate decided to go back to visit her mom thinking I’d be out longer than a day though I specifically told her that I would need a ride home. She even said she’d be up to it,” you were halfway through typing your angry response when a hand covered your screen and pushed it away from your face.
“First, anger won’t solve anything now. Second, I could drive you home no problem. I know you don’t live far from me,” Joven said matter-of-factly.
You gave him a look, “How do you know where I live?”
“I may or may not see you leaving right before me every morning.”
You snorted, tucking your phone away. “And what does your wife think of that?”
“She thinks it’s laughable how someone working for Smosh at the same job as I do manages to leave the house before me,” Joven laughed. “But really, I could drive you home no problem.”
“That’s really great, yeah thank you,” you smiled and pulled your sweater sleeves over your hands.
“And while you’re at it, maybe it’s time to move on from the roommate. I know it’s not my place but I do know this isn’t the first time this has happened. You get paid well enough to live on your own in the area we live in and I don’t think your pay will be going down anytime soon seeing as you’re basically doing what Wes did a few years back but less stressful.”
You nodded, “Yeah, Rebecca’s a sucky roommate anyways. But I’d feel bad just leaving her out like that.”
“You always complain about her being away so she never does any of the household stuff, where does she go?”
“To her boyfriend’s.”
“Problem solved, she goes to live with her boyfriend.”
You were silent, listening in on the other’s conversations. “I don’t know why I thought you hated me when we’re getting along so well right now.”
“I don’t know either, I mean I’m awesome.”
You lightly slapped his shoulder, laughing, “You keep telling yourself that, Old Man.”
“If I’m an old man, what does that make you? A baby?”
“Yes, of course! What else would I be?”
The time flew by and soon enough you were back at the office. You all left the van, waving goodbye to Matt as he left to go park it. Joven led you to his car, pulled out of the parking garage and drove until the office was out of the rearview mirror.
Joven dropped you off at home with promises of dinners at his place in the future and you left his car with a smile.
REQUEST: dadcorn but my dad - @daddy-needs-his-munge
Everyone had left to do their actual jobs which had left you in a predicament. When your dad told you that he’d be taking you on vacation, you were all for it. You both spent time together to plan out what was happening and where you were going and what to bring. The one thing that he had failed to mention, however, was that you would be left alone for nearly an hour while he went off and recorded for the Smoshcast.
Your dad, Lasercorn as others had often referred to him as had said that you were allowed to join in on the Smoshcast if you had so pleased. At this moment, you thought what better thing to do than to make your dad regret he even extended the invitation.
You slowly pushed the door to the room open, poking your head in and smiling at you dad who had taken notice of you instantly.
“Oh,” he said, a look on his face that said he knew exactly what was going to happen. “Why don’t we pass this question off to my offspring who both of you have babysat?”
He waved at you to come in and you made your way over, making sure to avoid any wires that looked like they could trip you up. A chair had been pulled up for you in between your dad and your Uncle Joven, your dad tilting his mic your way so that your voice could be heard.
You settled into your seat and beamed up at your dad who then mussed up your hair. You pouted and said a quick, “That’s not fair,” before asking what the question was.
“The question was who would make a worse dad,” your Uncle Ian spoke. “Myself or your Uncle Joven?”
Uncle Joven immediately looked away from you, “I’m not gonna look at you. I’m not going to change your answer with my mind or anything. It’s all up to you Laserkid.”
You blinked and sat up, “Well I only really remember Uncle Joven taking care of me but I do remember Uncle Ian taking me for rides all the time and taking me places when I was like six but that was eight years ago and I’m almost fifteen now.”
“Yeah,” your dad agreed. “Ian really took care of you as a kid, when you were just a small Babycorn but now Joven comes to hang out more often.”
“I really just think that Uncle Joven liked Tyler more than he liked me,” you stuck out your tongue at the older man and he laughed, sticking his tongue back out at you.
“No, you’re both my favorite,” Joven grabbed his bottle and unscrewed it, taking a sip of water.
“But here’s the thing,” your dad started. “I’ve seen Joven around his dogs, he’s very affectionate with his dogs and he does come by a lot now to hang out with Tyler and Y/n. On the other hand, Y/n has a point in that he rarely came by when they were younger. But Ian came to Korean barbeque with us once.”
You laughed at the memory, your Uncle Ian sitting at the table with you guys and playing Uno with you as you waited for the raw food to come out so your dad could cook it.
“He also didn’t bring any present for my kids. He played Uno with Y/n but even then it was Y/n that brought the cards. So Ian would be the worst dad.”
“Yeah that sounds right,” Ian gave in. You frowned and looked up at your dad.
“Uncle Ian would just need like a course in how to care for his kid first, I think Uncle Joven would be the worst dad because dogs don’t equal children!”
You dad looked down at you, “You do have a point, child of mine. My kid has spoken, Joven would be the worst dad.”
You giggled chaotically, and Joven pointed at you accusingly, “I gave you an awesome Christmas present and you have the audacity.”
“I’m just kidding Uncle Joven, you would both be great dads and if this loser wasn’t my dad I’d want either of you to be it.”
“Aw that’s sweet,” your dad said before noticing the insult you had directed at him. You escaped the chair as he went to tickle you, dipping out behind the cameras.
“Bye dad!” you called, hurrying out the door not bothering to listen for an answer. You made your way to where you knew Mari would be and collapsed onto the couch beside her once you found her.
“What’s going on, Y/n? Why are you so out of breath?”
“I ran from the Smoshcast and then came to find you,” you smiled up at your Aunt. Whether Mari knew it or not, she was the cool aunt out of the little family you had come to know within the Smosh group.
“Well you found me, what do you wanna do for,” she checked her phone, “the five minutes before your dad gets out?”
“Can you tell me a story about my dad?”
So for the next few minutes, Mari told you about the one time your dad had done the dumbest thing for the channel. The tale was chock-full of laughed and you were in stitches by the end of it. You only stopped laughing when your dad plopped down into the seat next to you. He threw an arm around your shoulder and asked what you guys were talking about before he came over.
“Aunt Mari was telling me about how dumb you used to be.”
“I was not dumb, I just did a lot of very dumb things,” he protested, tickling your side. You squirmed away until he stopped and you were basically laying across both your dad and your aunt’s laps. They were fine with it and so were you.
Uncle Joven, who had joined not shortly after your dad had, flicked on the television and you turned your head in Mari’s lap to watch. It didn’t take you long to start to drift off, eyes growing heavy as the newscaster shared her daily news and the sound of the running fan in the background lulling you to sleep.
The last thing you remembered before falling asleep was Mari working her way out from under you and your dad draping his jacket over your top half, kissing you on the forehead before a dreamless sleep claimed you for the afternoon.
