Which show has been ruined the most by romance?
"When I was a teenager and I first met the guys and we started to write together, everything was so new and raw and we didn't have a formula. Many times my lyrics were just poetry that I'd write in my bedroom, and I'd bring a sheet of paper to practice. I found myself kind of back in that mode."
Happy 5 years to PFA! 🌺
Who could've imagined we've been made it this far already. I can't wrap my head around it...so I'll wrap myself in some nostalgia and petals instead. ;) I asked you AND tumblr to choose songs for today's edit, and here it is. Sugar on the Rim and Over Yet side by side in a journal spread. Based off the quote above when Hayley discussed what led her to writing the album. I was going to include a cover of book, but decided to focus on these pages instead. We have Hayley in the center as a way to symbolize her in writing mode with each song taking on a life of their own around her. There's a bit of a brain storm with her teetering on a drink inspired by the lyrics "Had a life in hiding but a storm kept coming in," on the left. With Hayley then sort of ripping through a book, opening up to step out into the flowery space after the lyrics "Try to stay open, make it your friend," on the right. I've been all about opening up to what life has to offer these days after a long time spent in the dark. On the top of the book on Over Yet, there's a quote of Hayley's "I count every blessing and I remember the pain. And say thank you to it." PFA has taught me to let myself sink into new soil beneath cloudy skies, in the rain and in its mist I stumbled and fell. Caught myself time and time again to repeat the process. I will remember the days spent with Petals as it's been both my teacher and friend as I navigate my twenties. What the album has led me to. The cracks in my armor that allowed both the joy and the pain of living seep into my veins. The community and connections I've found through it all. I will forever be grateful for all the wonder the music has and will continue to share further down the road. I love you Petals for Armor. 🪷💐❤️
Over Yet - Hayley Williams
try to stay open, make it your friend!
It’s the right time to get out of your head.
It’s a very different kind of thankfulness than I’ve felt in the past, and I think it’s taken a lot of gardening in my heart, a lot of digging up so much soil and finding old roots that were in the way of other things blooming.
Baby, tell yourself it ain't over yet
