Should You Edit Your Published Book?

Like just about anything we do (paint, cook, dance, carpentry, write) we get better with practice. We learn better methods, the tricks of the trade, how to blend color and spices, cut a rug and cut a bevel. Take a deep breath. We all went through the "over-editing" phase. Breathe out slowly. It's just, as a photographer, it's physically hurting me to see my photos butchered like that. Deep inhale. They were a gift. Controlled exhale. It's how they want them to look. It's going to be okay.

When I look at pictures, on Tumblr or Flickr or 500px or whatever, I only see photos that have lost their beauty due to over-editing.

I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY YOU WOULD JUST SIT AROUND AND TAKE PICUTRES OF YOURSELF AND YOUR FRIEND, LIKE A PHOTOSHOOT OR SOMETHING. AND THEN TAKE THEM AND OVER EDIT THE SHIT OUT OF THEM ON PICNIK. IT'S LIKE, OKAY WE ALL KNOW YOUR FACE IS NOT FUCKING AIRBRUSHED LIKE THAT NATURALLY AND YOUR EYES ARE NOT THAT COLOR, NATURALLY. I UNDERSTAND YOU MIGHT GET BORED, BUT THAT JUST SEEMS LIKE YOUR TRYING TO HARD. YEAH, OKAY I WOULD CUT YOU SOME SLACK IF YOU WERE IN 7TH OR 6TH GRADE, BUT BEING A FRESHMAN?COME ON NOW PEOPLE! FACEBOOK IS NOT A PLACE TO POST PICTURES LIKE THAT. YOU SAVE THOSE PICTURES ON A FOLDER ON YOUR COMPUTER, BUT KEEP THEM OFF FACEBOOK. ITS ANNOYING. YOU LOOK DUMB. AND YOU LOOK LIKE YOUR TRYING TO HARD.
