savedmethroughgrace replied to your post: happy Monday to all!
I’ve finally come to terms with my depression so today I’m hopefully going to make a call to set up a counseling appointment. Never thought it would scare me seeing as I’m a therapist in training myself. :P
WOW!! Congratulations on this breakthrough! It can be scary, yes, especially because you now know what therapy is all about:)
Best of luck to you!

Hey there. Transferee anon again. Uh, thanks for the advice, I'll try to follow it. But, if there's something I'd like to remember, there's also something to forget. I felt like I was being tooled around, by not only those girls I hated in school in my previous school year, but also my jerk of an English teacher who wanted to control all aspects of my life, from my food to my actions. Some nights I just cry so much about it I can't breath. How do I forget about it?
To be quite frank, you will always remember, unless you develop amnesia or some other misfortune. The trick is to overcome it. This English teacher, in the long run, will become a footnote in the story of your life, as will the girls. While said teacher wanted to control you, it is important to remember that you are you, and your English teacher was only your English teacher. Never give anyone the authority to control your life, especially if you hate that person! Never pay anyone heed who has proven themselves unworthy of your attention. People will always be critical of you. Recognize that there will be people who will attempt to destroy your confidence, to unbuild everything you've ever built. Take every criticism and every order and every controlling action and say to yourself 'Is this constructive, or just hurtful?' Disregard the hurtful things. Work on the constructive things.
