I remember years ago when I was leveling in World of Warcraft, and seeing top level guild members using guildchat as a back channel complaint area, talking about people who would show up for the raids undergeared, and how much they hated that. This influenced me, and when I made it to top level (at the time), I worked SO hard getting crafted gear and such - to the point that when I started going on the Karazhan raid, only the last boss had any upgrades for me. I was a leeetle bit overprepared.
I feel the urge to do the same sort of thing in a very different environment. I have found out that there's a local quilting group that meets monthly. I missed April, but I'd like to go to May and see what the group is like. The webpage says they recommend people to have cloth name tags. So ... I've been looking at pictures of various quilt guild name tags online, and debating what to make. Which is maybe foolish, since it might make me look like an experienced person who'd been in another quilt guild before, rather than the online self-taught newbie that I am.
Nonetheless I'm mentally playing around with designs. Eep I have a week and two days.
