An afternoon with Charles Jardine
Firstly I must express my thanks for the time Charles so kindly spent with the group today. As Charles is an experienced Coach, Instructor and Angler it was great to learn so many techniques . Its not only his technical ability that simply amazes all bystanders its also his understanding of how to maximise the individuals needs.
I have already touched on technically ability and I its truly amazing how little effort is put into his casting technique. There was a repeat of some words which Charles believes is at the core of understanding and delivering a cast:
Timing
Compression
Tension
If the structure of the cast meets all those criteria then physics will often take over and aid the cast .
That may seem an over simplification but when it was demonstrated to me it did make sense . If I was to add a fourth, it would be to relax.
It was a truly inspirational afternoon and glad to know that Charles has offered his time for a "wash up " session.
