A look at three of the boss battles from Profane the new boss rush shooter developed by OverPowered Team and published by Alternative Software. Profane is a time based shooter, that gives you a set amount of time to defeat each boss, this unique system also allows you to trade time for additional weapons and moves. Time is life in Profane and should you take a hit then your time decreases, as long as you have time remaining you cannot be defeated. Run out of time and you enter last life mode and should you take a hit, then it's game over. This is a danmaku (弾幕) sub genre shmup better known to you and me as a bullet hell title, very much in the arcade feel.

European developed and made danmaku (弾幕) arcade style shooting games are few and far between. Last month saw the release of Profane by OverPowered Team a new shooter in the genre that see you go up against a horde of bosses in a bullet frenzy to free your land from a new dark evil. This is a shooter in its purest form, with the main selling point being the time system. Riven gives his impressions on Profane in this video and the only question is this a game with time on its side or has time already run out for it?
Correction: there is 10 bosses not 9 in Profane, Riven’s counting is somewhat off today, but the point still stands there could have been one or two more bosses.
Note from Riven, he didn't mention the fact that this game is best played with a Joypad, while it supports keyboard it doesn't support mouse to shoot and only fixed keys. So make sure you have a joypad before buying.
