PAX East thoughts on various games I saw that intrigued me or was interested in.
Brigidine Abyss--I'm a sucker for SRPGs, and this one looked really fun. You have an army thats a mix of both monster and human in large sprawling maps, and I can see the vision of the big epic battles.
Dreadmoor--What if Dredge was first person and had a lot going on is already a great pitch, but I really loved the artstyle of this one to boot. Who doesnt want to catch an eldritch horror on a hook?
Poly Fighter--A single player roguelike fighting game is a wild idea. Art style is very much themed from SFIV, and the concept seems like it could be a good time.
Lunarium--Looked like a very pretty and stylish top down adventure game. And damn if Im not a sucker for a knight and the maiden she must protect fighting together.
Rain98--You wake up in an apartment in 1998. There you meet Reina, who says she wants to destory the future. Everything from the setup to the art to the mystery of it in a point and click adventure really drew my attention.
Inkblood--A really fascinating detective game with a magnifying glass that lets you look into the past. You used this and other things to find clues to solve a series of mysteries. It looked grim and so fun.
Artic Eggs--I dont think eggs are supposed to do that.
Altered Alma/Being and Becoming/Bloodbreaker/Tales of Fate--Im a simple girl. I see a pixel art metroidvania game with a cool woman or a creature as the lead, Im interested. Some were more Metroid, some were more Castlevania, all interesting looking.
The Irony--I didnt see a lot of it but I didnt need to. 2D horror adventure in the same style as Signalis? Absolutely count me in.
Ghost Eater--An entirely black and white hack and slash game. I know nothing past this, but the presentation of looked fantastic.
Of The Devil--Very stylish visual novel game that looked like it took a page right out of the Ace Attorney book in a cyberpunk future. I infact love all of these things.
Shantytown--A citybuilder that looked nice and fun, where you build up small quint stacking towns. I havent played a citybuilder in a long time, but this one seemed fun.
SlashZero--2D anime action game! Instantly grabbed the weeb in me.
Grim Trials--A game that seemed very much inspired by Hades but with a hand drawn look to it. I didnt get to see how it feels, which is probably the most important part of a game taking inspiration from Hades, but its in the interested tab!
Canvas City--I am, once more, a sucker for SRPGs. Im also a sucker for stories about girls who use music and art to fight and rebel against capitalist power (I promise Unbeatable Ill play you someday I promise) and this goes right on the radar.
I feel like Im forgetting a couple more games I thought looked good, but alas Im sure they'll come back to me in time. If they do I might edit them in so I have a list I can come back to later when I forget half of these LOL.
