2,5,6 on inquest asks!!!!
ooo ty for asking!!!! (question list found here)
gonna answer for mhere!
🔸🔸🔸
2. What is their rank, and how did they attain it? Did they WANT that rank? Do they wear it well? Mhere holds a high rank within the Inquest as an Overseer, and supervises a megakrewe in the Crystal Desert that has smaller labs in Desert Highlands, Kourna, and Sandswept Isles. She is (or rather, was) directly involved with Lab Sigma-5 and oversaw branches of research and development on the scarab plague. Before that (and after), her projects focused on genetic engineering and experimentation on organic beings. She attained her rank through the same means any notable inquest member did: climbing the corporate ladder. She passed all the appropriate aptitude tests, licked the correct boots, {REDACTED], and suspended the necessary moral beliefs to land herself where she is today, and there's very little she'd trade her position for. (and Mhere wears everything well, thank you very much.)
5. How is their relationship with the concept of violence? Do they view it as a necessary evil, avoid inflicting it where possible, or even enjoy it? Anyone on the outside looking in would agree that Mhere isn't outwardly violent; she's not itching for a fight and most of her work keeps her tied to her secure, guarded, locked-down labs. On the other hand, anyone on the inside looking out would emphasize that Mhere is incredibly violent--the work she oversees in and of itself is indisputably sadistic. Fear is one of the sharpest tools in her arsenal, and it's a blade that can be honed in many different ways: blackmail, verbal threats, or physical violence. She's been known to push her subordinates around to get a point across, and doesn't hesitate to go further than a shove or a slap in order to remind someone who's in charge.
6. Do they have a guilty conscious? How do they cope with or personally reconcile the continuous stress and horror? Guilt is an entirely foreign concept to Mhere. Her work revolves around experimentation, research, and bettering her projects depending on the results. Squishy things like guilt and remorse get in the way of progressing through any means necessary. Stress, however, is something that Mhere is intimately familiar with; she knows she's not the king of the corporate food chain. She remedies this by making sure her projects and reports are completed in time, the work is executed perfectly, and the results ensure the advancement of her research through any means necessary.
4, 10, and 14 from the inquest asks for mhere, if you'd like! :D @kerra-and-company
ty for asking!!!! I'm sorry this took a month to get to!!!!!!!!!! (question list found here!)

4. How well do they perform their job? Do other Inquest respect them, or are they on the chopping block? As a graduate from the College of Dynamics, Mhere enjoys, values, and executes highly experimental work. This might put her on the razor edge of breakthrough discoveries, but it can also tip her into catastrophic failure. While these debacles are often seen as a waste of resources (and time) to her higher-ups, Mhere sees failure as a chance to learn; she builds on knowledge, and she understands that knowledge is gained through both successes and ‘failures.’ She tends to butt-heads with those that deem her work ‘conjectural’ and ‘reckless’, but she’s always prepared to back-up her work with meticulous reports and methodical presentations. Her sharp wit and indisputable overall cognizance keeps her in good graces with her peers more often than not, and she works hard to make sure that she ALWAYS has results and evidence of progress to make up for her perceived failures.
10. How do they feel towards Inquest leadership? (Optional: How do they feel towards Kudu and Kuda?) Mhere has respect for those above her (either genuine or fabricated, depending on the situation) as long as that respect is returned (either genuine or fabricated, depending on the situation). She isn’t egotistical enough to believe that she could’ve been more successful in Kuda’s shoes than he was, and is self-aware enough to realize that she has her own weaknesses to acknowledge and strengths that she can hone.
14. It is said that the Inquest view the Eternal Alchemy as "a thing to be mastered and used, rather than merely understood, for the ultimate purpose of establishing asuran dominion over other species". Do they believe this-- is there a psuedo-religious/philosophical element to their Inquest loyalty? How do they feel towards other races? Being in control is something that’s very important to Mhere, though she’s specific in what she believes she needs to control: she needs to be in direct control of her work, herself, and her underlings, and everything outside that tight-knit bubble isn’t her concern. Mastery over the other races isn’t something she herself seeks though she’s highly supportive of those who choose to chase it; if those chasers believe her work would be beneficial to them, she’d happily share her research (with stipulations and prerequisites, of course). It should also be said that she is absolutely not above running unethical experiments on other races (asura included) and has done so in the past. Many times.
