2020 has been an excellent black metal year for me. I’m not sure if it’s because the world seems so hopeless or extended quarantine isolation feels depressing, but BM got most of my attention so far this year. ALBUMS OF THE WEEK. Here are the nine albums that got the most plays from me this week. The clear winner was Skeletal Remains’ awesome new death metal album, “The Entombment of Chaos.” All of my expectations for this one were greatly exceeded. Over The Voids’ new album, “Hadal,” stayed on another week. There are three Vader albums here because Vader is awesome. I just stumbled on this black metal album by a band called Over The Voids. It’s pretty great. Polish bands are killing it these days.
Over The Voids - Hadal (2020). This is great Polish black metal. It’s a one man project helmed by The Fall, who is in Mgla’s touring lineup. Great stuff here.
