ok, overwatch!au brainrot because i've been on that overwatch 2 beta grind. i revel in msby team chaos + iwa. what do we think about this? wc: 800+
meian shugo. the strike commander for the msby black jackals. a renowned international organization comprised of members that work to maintain peace.
he sits at the head of the conference table, his large frame casting even larger shadows on the projector screen behind him. despite his stern posture, his face softens with a fond smile when he regards sakusa. "ah, here they are."
sakusa sits to meian's immediate right, his dark eyes flicker up to follow meian's gaze, angling his body towards the door. he quietly observes the people walking single file into the room.
“everyone, this is sakusa kiyoomi. he will be our newest member.” sakusa keeps his expression carefully guarded behind his face mask, eyes betraying nothing. he nods politely but remains quiet. under the table, he juggles three floating hyperspheres in his right hand to ease his nerves.
"meet the team.”
hinata shoyo, bokuto kotaro, miya atsumu, iwaizumi hajime, and you.
"currently, all of our active teams are comprised of 6 members, carefully chosen based on their skillset and the nature of the assignment to maximize the mission's success," meian explains, raising his fingers as he lists them off, "there are three roles. tank, damage, and support."
atsumu is a tank, orchestrating the team's attacks by absorbing damage and breaking through enemy positions to create openings for the team. he operates a full-body mech, equipped with cannon blasters. atsumu's mech is sleek, painted black with white paint accenting the fuselage lines. the back of his mech also has a large red torii gate, an homage to his hometown. atsumu has a cocky grin on his face as he regards sakusa with a finger salute. “nice to meet ya, omi-kun.” sakusa’s eye twitches. ah, he can already feel a headache forming.
hinata and bokuto are primarily on the front lines, seamlessly working together to deal damage. hinata is a pilot with incredible mobility and firepower. he's solely responsible for the airborne battles. his helmet is neatly tucked under his arm and he wears black armor. the expanse of his back is embellished in gold with the words, "頂 いただき の 景色 けしき" meaning "the view from the top." the mechanical wings on his back resemble that of a crow's, giving off an iridescent look under the lights. despite the dark armor, hinata lives up to his namesake and has a sunny disposition and an infectious energy about him.
bokuto is a demolitions expert with his goggles crookedly sitting atop his head. he has singed hair, blackened fingertips, and he wears a toolbelt with loose screws and nails clinking together with his steps. he enjoys tinkering with new “toys” and testing them out around the base, but sakusa muses that it might be best to keep a respectable distance and avoid getting caught in the crossfire. bokuto’s energy and damage are literally explosive, as he lobs grenades while bellowing his signature, "hey, hey, hey!" though sometimes if his bombs aren’t hitting their mark, he can fall into his depressive moods, so it's up to the team to cheer him up. a few kind words go a long way to change the tide of the battle.
iwaizumi serves as a dual damage/support member. although, he strikes sakusa as more of a tank with those massive arms. iwaizumi has a grumpy resting face and a habit of crossing his arms with a huff, but he exudes dependability. well, to an extent. between the two of you, iwaizumi prefers to be more of a battle healer. he doles out more damage with his biotic grasp than actually healing. but he’ll keep everyone in check with a swift smack upside the head. “focus! get your head in the mission!” it’s just a little friendly fire. he claims that he has to put these guns to use, obnoxiously flexing his large biceps and clearly amused by his own bad joke. the rest of you aren't impressed.
lastly, you. you are the main support, the very backbone of the team's survival. you exude the calmest energy among the rest of them, though sakusa mildly wonders if one has to be slightly insane to deal with this kind of motley crew. you are the most reliable and consistent healer, knowing exactly when to heal or boost damage with your caduceus staff. you place yourself where you’re needed the most, using the wings fastened to your back to let you fly alongside hinata or propel to other teammates on the ground. though sometimes iwaizumi has to grab you by the top of your wing harness and yank you back, with a firm "oi, don't even think about it" to prevent you from doing any risky healing maneuvers. you can’t help but pout like a petulant child and retract your wings, but you know he means well. and unlike hinata's wings, yours are a pure white color giving you more of an ethereal appearance. their guardian angel. the team keeps your healing hands full, but you also don’t let them forget that the devil was also an angel. you giveth heals, but you also taketh away.
sakusa can tell he’s in for a wild ride as you all bow.
