~ INTRO POST ~
This is an OC blog for the 1989 film Dead Poets Society. The film takes place in the year 1959, but that won’t be acknowledged for the sake of this blog being well past that point in time.
Born and raised in Queens, New York, Ernest Owens is a seventeen year old student in his junior year of high school at Welton Academy, an Episcopalian all-male preparatory boarding school in Vermont.
Sometimes Ernest goes by his middle name, Jack, because he was named after the character in The Importance of Being Earnest.
His friends at Welton are Neil Perry, Todd Anderson, Charlie Dalton, Knox Overstreet, Richard Cameron, Steven Meeks, Gerard Pitts, and Stick Hayes (his roommate).
His parents want him to become a dentist, but he hates blood and would rather follow his dream of writing and directing stage-plays.
