What is that thing he tears open to absorb? It looks like a palisman-- but one ripped off its staff, not removed. That’s chilling. Not only is that a living creature, at least some of which have humanlike intelligence, but it also implies that he’s just slurping up the magic of other witches.
And then we just sit on that image for the entire credits.
Jesus fucking christ. That went to depths of darkness I genuinely did not expect of this show. Over the course of twenty minutes, we went from last episode’s cheerful sports antics with adorable queer crushes to... this. Betrayal, resentment, religion, death, destruction. What matters to people, blood family and chosen family, love and hatred and fear and it absolutely gripped me all the way through.
Lilith is... fascinating and horrible. She’s pathetic, as I said; such a little ball of misery and resentment that she’s ready to destroy anything, risk anyone’s life, all to get the upper hand, to prove she really is better than her sister. It’s painful to watch.

I thought she’d gloat, that she’d use it as her final ace, she has the power. But she’s a scared, miserable, resentful child, and that doesn’t make a single damn thing she’s done anything close to okay but it’s tragic to watch. She’s... pathetic. She’s a wrecking ball of inferiority complexes and fury, and she’s practically sentenced her sister to death because of it.
And look at Eda. She didn’t suspect this at all.
