Now that I don’t live with them I mostly try to keep them up with what’s happening in my life and vice versa. I don’t really like talking to them about important things unless I have to, so it’s mostly frivolous—funny anecdotes about things that have happened recently and whatnot. Basic updates about school or work. Obviously by not living with them I talk with them less often than when I did, but I feel like the conversations now are more genuine and open than what they used to be.
