O.W.L.s TBR

I’m participating in Book Roast’s O.W.L.s readathon for the first time this April. I kind of want to do the wrong thing and try to fulfill all the prompts, but the careers I’m aiming for are Mind Medic or Spell Maker. 

Here’s what I plan to read:

O.W.L.s TBR 2020

Updated because the font the original prompt list is in is the most awful thing for my eyes that I can hardly read. Don’t get me wrong it’s aesthetically pleasing but it’s too hard on my eye and the letters run together. 

 I’m doing Book Roast’s O.W.L. Readathon for the first time (just found out about it today). I’m aiming for Healer since that’s the closest career to what I’m currently studying. There are 3 electives for this one, but I have 4 listed in my TBR. This is not necessarily the order I will read these in. 

Herbology: Starts with M  -- Merchant of Venice by William Shakespeare 

Charms: White cover -- Two by Two by Nicholas Sparks 

Defense Against the Dark Arts: set at sea/coast -- Sea Witch by Sarah Henning 

Potions: Under 150 pages -- A Floating City by Jules Verne 

Transfiguration: shapeshifting -- Slither by Joseph Delaney 

Elective 1 Arithmancy: read something outside your favorite genre -- Little Women by Louisa May Alcott 

Elective 2 Astronomy: read a majority when it’s dark outside -- A Curse So Dark and Loney by Brigid Kemmerer 

Elective 3 Divination: random # generator -- City of Bones by Cassandra Clare 

Elective 4 History of Magic: witches  -- Lure of the Dead by Joseph Delaney

Book #35 of 2020

Slither by Joseph Delaney (The Last Apprentice/Wardstone #11)

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thoughts: The story itself is good, I just don’t see the point to this book in the series. Yeah, Grimalkin was there with the head, but still seemed pretty pointless side story.

Lure of the Dead by Joseph Delaney (The Last Apprentice #10)

Thoughts: Right now, I’m just mad that Tom didn’t keep the dogs and that they went back to Caster. I know that they’ve been trained to deal with water witches, but come on those are Tom’s dogs now.

All of these books mention witches somewhere in them. The past few though, we’ve been allying ourselves with witches while also fighting other witches.

So give days into it I decided to join the Magical Readathon O.W.L.'s 2020 run by @book_roast . I've already read 3 books for it and I'm in the middle of two more. Thanks a is a rough TBR, as I keep adding and moving books around. It's also missing Binti by @nnediokorafor and City of Heavenly Fire by @cassieclare1 but I have read the first and am reading the latter. I haven't actually done a readathon in years as I find them stressful, but this one lasts all month, not a few days or a week, giving my plenty of time to meet all the prompts for all the different job owls I'm going for. I doubt I'll do them all, but I'm gonna try. A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer

Thoughts: I need to actually buy this book instead of borrowing it from the library. This is a book that I’m sure I’m going to re-read (debating about already re-reading it since I’m on a 15 week hold list yet for the next book).
