We have plenty oh potholes ;w; there's always construction on roads and cracks and rough patches OTL there was a major one in my parking lot at work that they didn't fix till it was too big for someone to go around
Oh, I see... not much different from Italy, then. What you said reminded me of the road I have to use when I go to work, haha. It’s so full of holes that not getting even one is nearly impossible. But, it’s just out of the city. So, the city council says that it’s not their business, and the province doesn’t care because it’s such a small road that it doesn’t have any impact on the overall viability. Moral of the story: it has been over two years, and the road hasn’t been repaired yet. 😅 Italian bureaucracy at its finest, haha.
But, in Italy, this is a quite widespread issue, it’s not only about small country roads. There is a highway near to where I live that it’s permanently under renovation, lol. It has been decades, yet, there are some parts that are closed to the traffic because they’re working on them. And once they finish, they move to a different part. But, since a single part takes, like, about a year, then other parts have gotten ruined as well. It’s an endless circle, haha. And everything is always full of holes and cracks. Everywhere. That’s just Italy for you, haha.
And sorry for the misconception, I was under the impression that, in the US, roads were typically on a much better condition than they are elsewhere (with a particular emphasis on Italy, haha). I’ve heard a few Americans complain about or even marvel at the state of Italian roads. 😅 But, I actually don’t know which part of the US they were from. Maybe, there are some places where the roads are actually decent. I keep holding onto this hope. 😅
