Milk carton Laddie but I don't think the boys took him.

I think they found him.

I think Laddie was kidnapped in the horrible, more typical way, and the boys, or possibly Star, found his discarded body. But he hadn't quite died yet, and that's why they changed such a young kid.

It doesn't make sense that they would, on their own accord, decide that they just had to have a really little brother. Laddie's age stands out amongst the group of them, he hangs with them, and loves them, but body and mind he is younger, and wouldn't be able to keep up with their pace as easily. Just, logistically, logically, it's more difficult having such a younger, smaller person around, who would need things so much different than the rest of them.

But they love him. They make those allowances for him. They dont act as though having him around is burdensome, or unwanted, or just something they're doing for no reason. They look after him and take care of him and make sure he doesn't trip or fall, and that he (and Star) have nice, comfortable places to sleep. He has a stuffed animal. They include him, but they still shield him from the heavy, intense side of vampirism.

They didn't plan on turning Laddie, and they didn't hunt him out.

They rescued him.

So my little backstory headcanon idea for Michael and Sam is this-

They're half brothers.

Michael was born to Lucy during her hippie years, his father was never involved, he didn't even know that Lucy had become pregnant, and that was how she wanted it. She was quite happy to be pregnant with Michael, but she didn't want to settle down with anyone, she was having fun, he was just a tryst and it wasn't meant to become serious and she was still floating around and didn't want anyone else in her life at the moment. She was enough, and then Michael was enough, and she was content with how things were.

Of course, time passes. Eventually, she does want to settle down, wants the supposed stability and partnership of married life, and that's when she meets Sam's dad. He seems nice, and steady (I picture him as being a mechanic or something like that) he bonds with Michael over mini bikes and takes them for rides on his motorcycle. He treats Lucy like she's something special.

They get married, after about a year Sam is born, and everything seems to be great.

But it doesn't last. Sam is, oh about three years old, maybe two and a half? Eventually cracks start to show through. Voices are raised, things get thrown around and broken. He's abusive. He's controlling.

She stays with him.

Until she can escape. Until she can assure her children's safety. Until she has enough money carefully, carefully saved away. And then they run.

She gets divorced and she doesn't tell anyone why. She keeps it private and to herself and she doesn't care that her dad makes jokes about her situation because he doesnt know and that's just how she wants it.

And of course, this doesnt have any affect on the brother's relationship or anything, that's not what I mean. I just think that this is what happened and maybe why they (the boys) are at bit more loose ends, focusing on minor distractions at first.

Though I stand by that it still makes no fucking sense that Billy had a secret child.

He was involved with Sidney because that was his big revenge plan. But idk, he just struck me as being too obsessed with his emotions and the facade he was having to maintain and the planning and escaping and all that to just be having...casual sex that didn't serve a purpose to him.

It's just...he had SO MUCH OTHER STUFF GOING ON BACK THEN.

Idk I like Sam well enough, and the initial surprise was cool to me, and I greatly enjoy the murderous daddy daughter thing they have going on inside her head but it doesn't quite gel for me... y'know?

Food as a metaphor ect. in Big Eden.

Pike makes Henry and his grandfather food. Good, healthy, beautiful meals.

He isnt quite sure what's going on with his emotions, he's doing so much so outside of his comfort zone and he doesn't fully understand why (at least, in the beginning) and he can't share a meal just yet, or take the credit for all of his efforts, but he's open to this, he's ready, even if he doesn't know quite what for, and the result is something beautiful and delicious.

(Falling in love with Henry caught Pike off guard and was unexpected, but he's ready for it, he throws himself into it. His anxieties stem from social anxiety and reciprocation, not from his own sexuality.)

Dean makes Henry scrambled eggs. He's trying to comfort him and take care of him, but he doesn't know where things are in the kitchen, he burns the eggs, and in the end no one even eats them.

(Dean wants to embrace and explore his sexuality (for my money he's bi) but he can't just throw himself into it. He's not there yet, no matter how much he wants to be. He's still working through the ends and outs of his sexuality, (he's just come out of a divorce) and he and Henry are in completely different places, in their lives, and in their queerness, and its DIFFICULT FOR HIM. Henry's already had to go through this, but Dean is in pain, he's going through it right and it hurts him. He's not doing anything wrong by being unable to enter into a romance with Henry, and Henry isnt doing anything wrong by being unable to work with Dean through his sexual experimentation/understanding/awakening, but they are incompatible, romantically speaking.)

Henry meanwhile doesn't make food for anyone, he rarely even serves it to others, only occasionally bringing a plate in to someone, sometimes pouring coffee, or setting a table.

He's spent his whole life knowing he was gay and and being in love with someone he couldn't be with. He's hungry, and ready to receive.

But of his two suitors, only Pike is in a place to feed him the way that he needs.

Under the cut for spoilers cause I feel l should this time but, oof.

I knew this was what was going to happen, but it was the execution what caught me.

In the church, Wolfwood tries to make peace, he says his confession, he prepares to die with dignity, acceptance. He wishes that, if he is to be reincarnated, that he be allowed to live in a peaceful Eden, with Vash and Meryl and Milly ("him and the girls"). But no! He doesn't want to die, he realizes, he's not okay with it ending yet, please! He wants to live! Theres so much more he wants to do with them, his life can't be over yet, his mistakes, his choices, he wasn't able to reconcile them!

And then an acoustic guitar and a man softly, mournfully singing "hallelujah, hallelujah" begins, and Wolfwood falls over his cross, and dies.

There's something about him preparing himself, saying his confession, smoking his last cigarette, getting comfortable, waiting for death to come, and then, after it takes his hand, fighting back, desperate for life, not only life but to LIVE, freely and peacefully.....

...but it's too late.

Things always go from bad, to worse.

Uzui Tengen loves his wives, and they love him, and they love each other, and they're all married together and to each other and it's a beautiful wonderful love circle.

My Scream theory is that Billy doesn't care too much about Stu, but Stu loves Billy, and he'll do whatever Billy wants him to do so that Billy will pay attention to him and have sex with him.

They both know the other is playing false, but they're in too deep now to go back or change anything.

And I don't think either of them would, either.

(I know Stu's actor said they would fall in love, and I believe that, and I'm not saying that Billy isn't attracted to men either, cause I think he definitely is, but I think those things would come later, if they had more time. I think that during the timeline of the first Scream movie Billy is too obsessed with his own pain and revenge and himself, to be able to care about anyone else at all. But he needs Stu for his plan to work, so he gives him what he wants (which is himself) and Stu takes it because he too, is obsessed.)

Gren is a quiet, melancholic person struggling with loneliness. He needs to be around people, he is driven almost to tears from his need of comrades, his need to be connected.

And he is cut off from that.

Utterly betrayed by, arguably, the most important, beloved, person in his life, he suffers through wrongful imprisonment (which, incidentally, would also separate him from any other friends he may have had, seeing as how they would've thought he'd turned and betrayed them), which brought on a severe mental break, drug use and or addiction, and finally, cast off and abandoned because he had nowhere else to go, on an frigid planet that is solely inhabited by people who hate it there, devoid of comfort and companionship.

His fondest memories are being smack in the middle of a desert war, because, though it eventually proved false, he was loved. He felt loved.

He is soft, methodical, and caring.

He has a calming, inviting presence, that he uses to comfort, and set people at ease. Though he has learned to remain distant.

He is thoughtful, clever, and quick, though not incapable of being devious and deceptive.

He is an artist, and a musician. He creates beauty, calling it into existence.

He is in every way capable. He used to be a soldier, and he has not forgotten those skills, or let them molder.

He is multifaceted, he is nuanced, and, in his way, he is unknowable.

He draws you in, but holds you at bay.

His downfall is his need. He actually loves too much.

He is a story that you barely get to hear, and will never fully know, that option is not available to you, to fully know everthing you would about him.

And is because of that, that he haunts you.

He stays in your mind. He's a piece of you now. Sitting quiet but unignorable , long after the last strains of music fade.
