To support my previous post, this illustrates how I would expect my App to look on the background of a natural Apple iPhone 8 Home Screen. As well as that, I designed an App Open Screen of which would be what loads on the users main screen once the App has been activated. Rather than just using the ‘anchor’ image, I thought I could further add something to appear on the screen and add further character so I again continued my research of “Traditional Tattoo Designs” and succeeded to find an image I felt built upon the character I initially set out to design for my app. All of this work was produced using the Adobe InDesign CC 2017 programme by transferring photos to then develop and edit my final designed product. Although it does use pink and purple colours, I do understand that this would stereotypically appeal more the the feminine character users which is something I will ultimately look into changing as my target audience isn’t directed to one specific gender and feel I could make it more neutral.
After producing my final logo idea and formatted company image, I then had the challenge to create and generate ideas for an App I would approach at marketing with my developed company. Above is a representation of a portion of notes I made whilst brainstorming ideas. I knew from my first ideas that I didn’t want to create something of which would blend in with the typical mainstream apps as such as “Dating” apps and originally took the route of something that would be educational and could be used at a high demand within schools and the Educational System. However, I felt that although it was a good idea, it wouldn’t have been something that I could connect with and share an enthusiastic energy with in the makings of the final product. I decided that I wanted to do something social but then still had the challenges of what would stand out within the current App Market. That is then when I came around with the ideas of a Virtual Tattoo app. Something that could link users all based around the passion of tattoo art. Further expanding on this, I thought it would be useful to link the app with local businesses; even allowing local businesses to reach out to users and further build on their trades. Within this app, I thought it could create forums, chats, photo boards of which then pushes and encourages the social aspect of the app. Finally, I wanted to enhance the ideas of experimentation, making it something different and that make it more than a cliche social app, the app would be programmed with software that would allow users to visualise what a tattoo would look like on that person and to share with friends.
Within my opening session of Media Enterprise, I was challenged with designing a logo for my company and to develop ideas about what I would ultimately like to produce. I decided to name my company “Our Image” as I felt this connected with my target audience being aimed from the ages of young adulthood and so on. Using Adobe InDesign CC 2017, I was able to use a range of fonts and tools to ultimately brand my company name and logo. Using a blue background and the brightness of the orange and white fonts, I felt this created a great vibrance and energy transmitted from my designed image of my created company. Having selected the name “Our Image”, this idea came from multiple ideas based around myself as an individual - being something I felt I would ultimately be able to use to project myself in a personal yet professional manner and to further create, portray and voice my own ideas. “Our Image” is a company I aspire to create a friendly notion with users and to be ultimately recognised as something that is easy to connect to and comfortably recognise and share, just like your own image.
