violent action starters — accepting. 034. — trip my muse. @owntheinternet
you never expect to be tripped out of nowhere, not even if you’re hypervigilant; & the fixer isn’t even that much. okay, jordi wouldn’t say he puts his guard down often around anyone — it comes with his field of work — & wrench isn’t some wild exception, but he has ( up to this point ) anticipated a sort of business professionalism from the young hacker. apparently, this was a miscalculation on his part, & he’ll be sure to lower that standard from now on. he does not, however, hold it against wrench: he moreso blames himself for expecting too much of someone who’s chronically immature. just thank god that jordi isn’t the type to take everything personally ... & that he’s all the way at the opposite side of the spectrum. he couldn’t possibly give enough of a fuck to hold a grudge, especially not against some masked dedsec punk.
although, there is a fleeting moment, right when he falls to his hands & knees, when it seems that he might be about to kill wrench — or, at the very least, leave him terribly maimed. it probably would have been more amusing if he’d actually fallen onto his face, yet, here they are. the fixer deduces in his head that wrench isn’t about to kill him, but he forces his expression to remain agitated for longer than necessary: making a point. ugh, there’s dirt on his suit ... ❝ smooth, ❞ jordi scoffs, the lone word dripping with sarcasm. there’s no dignified way to get up off of the ground, but he sure as hell tries. should he shove the kid back? eh, probably not. the fixer brushes the dust off of his hands, & places one briefly against his hip whilst regarding the other with a notable squint. today, wrench gets off entirely scot free. it’s hard to say whether he should consider himself lucky.
❝ watch it. my clothes are worth more than your life is. ❞ hold on, hitman, is this true? ... no comment.
