In the era of streaming buying individual disks/collections of your favorite movies/tv shows/games can be really nice.
Streaming can be/is convenient! But I believe it's also important to *own* your favorite media. Streaming platforms fluctuate so much in what is on per platform (not to mention that there is so many now that you have to pay for individually) that it is difficult to rely on them due to contracts for different shows being interchanged under the table.
If you like a multi season show? See how much your favorite season costs. Like a movie? Check if its avaliable for purchase.
Or an even better third free option is to check out your local library! Often they have collections of DVDs you can rent out for FREE! My hometown library even has video games you can check out for a week or two.
There are options outside of streaming and you get to KEEP your media. Digital purchases can be taken but physical editions cannot.
