So many people describe integrity as doing the right thing when nobody is watching, but mistakes are inevitable. Part of integrity has to be the openness to admit failure, to confess sin, and to take ownership of your stuff. Nobody is perfect, so stop acting like you are. At first glance, this verse has a lot to chew on. Can we be true followers of Christ, in the midst of our sin, and struggle? The answer is yes. 1 John 1:7 tells us that if we love others, and confess our sins, He will cleanse us. This gets us into closer communion with Christ. Too many people fall for the myth that Christians must be PERFECT. That is absolutely false. Believers should be willing to own their sin, forgive others of their sin, and love those around them. Read that last sentence one more time. We must be willing to ADMIT OUR SIN, FORGIVE OTHERS, and LOVE OTHERS.
