Hello all Overwatch OCs and their muns!
Most of us have probably already seen popular Overwatch ships dedicate a week to content, so I took inspiration and decided to create a week just for proud OCs!
Overwatch OC Week will take place September 10 - 16. This will (hopefully) be the perfect opportunity to flesh out your Overwatch characters or create new ones! All forms of art are accepted: writing, illustration, comics, graphics -- whatever you can work with!
Prompts:
Day 1 - September 10 (Sunday)
Introduction - Introduce us to your character! Are they Overwatch affiliated or otherwise? Chaotic Good or Lawful Neutral? Offense or Support? Who do they work for, what do they do, and why? You can include their “in-game” hero abilities with this if you’d like!
[Here is a good template to work with for Day 1]
Day 2 - September 11 (Monday)
Wardrobe/Aesthetic - Now that we know your character, what do they wear? What skins would they have in-game? Is there a story behind what your character wears? Any little knick-knacks they carry with them? What color scheme do they follow?
Day 3 - September 12 (Tuesday)
Family - Basics are down, let’s dig deeper into your character. Who are they associated with? Any family or friends that affect them on some level? Significant others? Love interests? How has the people around them influenced them and their decisions? How important are they to them, and who exactly do they consider family?
OCxCanon ships are absolutely welcome, if you wish!
Day 4 - September 13 (Wednesday)
Crisis - Let’s crank it up. Has there been a significant external event that has pushed your character to their limits? (examples include but are not limited to: The Omnic Crisis, Talon attacks, riots, Overwatch interference, gang life, etc.) What event shaped your character? Was there one at all?
If your character does not have an external conflict, then how about internal? Is there an image of themself they are trying to reach? Something they want to improve? Are they struggling with something internalized, or do they have standards forced on them that they can’t reach or don’t want to? Lots of creative freedom here!
Day 5 - September 14 (Thursday)
Goal - Now that we have a better insight on your character, let’s ask: What do they want from life? Is there something they are looking to achieve? Wealth? Peace? Order through chaos? Freedom from government? Love? Education? What steps are they taking to achieve this goal?
Day 6 - September 15 (Friday)
Domestic - Okay, now we’ve got a pretty great idea of who your character is, now let’s humanize them. Where do they live? Have any pets? Live with anyone? What are their favorite foods? What do they do on a Saturday night? To unwind? To pass the time? Have any hobbies? Just think of the simple things they might enjoy!
Day 7 - September 16 (Saturday)
Alternate Universe - Now let’s just have some FUN. Take your character now, and change it up. What would your Overwatch agent have been like if they were Talon instead? What if their significant turning point (see: Crisis prompt) never happened, or played out differently? What if they got brainwashed, or redeemed? Go wild. Have fun with this one!
Please try to post these on their respective dates. Late entries are completely okay! They can be n.sfw if you’d like, just make sure you tag them appropriately. If participating, be sure to tag as #owocweek in your post so I can find them! If you’re a roleplayer, you can link your character’s blog to your work, and perhaps other oc rpers can find each other through this week!
If you need help creating or refining your OC, I have a tag on this blog for helpful resources, and a masterpost here for blogs to follow to help develop your character.
Have fun, and I hope to see all of your beautiful characters very soon!
