1. So a lot of people characterize Sirius as really immature, and yeah, he kinda was. But, I was thinking about the Marauders(as you do)and I realized that in the time that Harry was born, death was a very real threat for James and Lily. So naming Sirius his godfather wasn't just an act of friendship and brotherhood, they both truly trusted Sirius to take care of Harry if they were to die.

I think that if james and lily had died any other way he would have been more rational, but because it was peter that betrayed them, he couldn’t even believe that it had happened, and in one night he lost three of his best friends. and he did think about harry when he heard the news. he tried to take harry with him. and i think that if hagrid/dumbledore had let him take harry, he never would have gone after peter bc ontop of losing his friends, he wasn’t even allowed to take care of the one thing he had left.
