it isnt that clear but im quite sure kuzu was made into a shikigami after doman's betrayal bc these interactions sound like they don't know each other personally??

that would mean kuzu has never met seimei's grandfather but the fact that she still knows about seimei and his grandfather spending new years together -> probably gozu or rikugo told her..

i think its more likely to be rikugo hfdhdgfh i want to see him tell everyone embarrassing stories about seimei's childhood

i dont even think rikugo would do it to embarrass seimei he just thinks its cute i feel like hes kinda overly earnest in that way..

rikugo in particular is so.... much hes always putting the ox clan first whether its going to greet yoshitsune in sei's grandfather's stead so he can be by his daughter's side or requesting tsune's aid in seimei's journey ahead and eventually sacrificing himself to help seimei achieve his goals... aayughhghdh

i think in a way rikugo prob sees his "death" and sam's in the same way bc it really just is... returning to how it used to be... (the mana from seimei's grandfather being returned to him) except its not clear in what form he'd return in if seimei ever brings him back

like.. would he lose his memories? would he even be the same person w the same personality?? i have some personal hcs about it but in the end we dont know

i think this is basically the entire theme? of seimei's story... i like to think through kodoku seimei has the mana from all the bureau's onmyojis inside of him but bc one person cant handle it thats why it manifests as a curse thats eating away at him..

and technically the mana that made up rikugo is inside him too its like. "the people you love live on inside you" but in a more literal way and its like both a blessing and a curse to him...

getting into hc/theory but i think if rikugo was made up of mana of all the bureau's members then sei who beared the brunt of kodoku and took in rikugo's mana should have the same mana that it took to make him in the first place...

i like to think rikugo sacrificed himself while putting his trust in seimei to be able to bring him back... or something....

gozu and rikugo might know how to manage sei's temper but the fact that hes still grumpy... i feel like it means he was still spoiled...

like they might know how to make him calm down but he was never punished (?) for being that way.... after all lord seimei is lovable no matter what he does ffhdhggjd

i really wish sei took a holiday alongside gozu and kuzu too... (kuzu showed up anyway) but it also feels like they wouldve had to convince him that its ok to take a vacation since theyre taking care of things back in hinomoto..

kuzuha being the most approachable one in ox clan is really cute fbajfha but also that means in shingen's story gozu was left alone to deal with work😭im sure the people in ox territory arent afraid of him but if he had to meet with anyone else..

picturing gozu towering over some shogunate officials or whatever who are terrified despite how nice hes trying to be and hes just like ("kuzunoha... please come back soon...")

rrhggh i think about kuzunoha rikugo rship a lot... i think in the beginning kuzu felt like it was really difficult fitting in bc sei keeps yelling at her and gozu is scary looking and struggled w feelings of being inferior to rikugo as a shikigami...

but rikugo i think really wanted her to stay and be with sei (for when hes gone..) and kuzu slowly opens up... i like the idea of her styling her hair rings after him a lot

and i still like the idea of rikugo being a bird shikigami so like... maybe kuzu couldnt really control her human form that well and couldnt get rid of her animal features like rikugo but he helps her realise its her charm point to be proud of that part of her...🥹

mitsuba telling seimei to let kuzunoha have more tofu so they dont have to deal w the growing tofu religion in the halidom... its probably a terrible combination theyre both so stubborn

the interactions that sei has with other chars are so interesting to me cuz u can see exactly who approves/disapproves and it basically corresponds with who knows him better.. chars like tsune/gozu dont even try to tell him off but i feel like it comes from them knowing him more

on the other hand kuzu and halidom chars dont. really understand his situation or pov but in the end that was the catalyst he needed to make his final decision... its nice

i mean tsune is... a bit of a mix but she did promise rikugo to help sei and her story contrasts sei's in which shes truly in a situation where theres no reason for her to be alive anymore but the whole reason she agreed to help sei being bc she realises sei isnt there yet...!

its the same w shingen i really like how his advice comes from understanding sei really well fjsbjfa his entire story is just so nice bc they introduced him as "loved by fellow wyrmclan leaders and his retainers alike" or smth and his story really shows it o<-<
