Mitsuki
Time for Made in Abyss OC, hooray.
Mitsuki is a living paradox, lost within the deepest parts of the Abyss. A former ward of the Belchero Orphanage and a "problem child" of Orth, he never quite fit the mold of human laws, preferring the whisper of the Force Field and the damp darkness of uncharted caves to the safety of the surface. His wild, chaotic nature was sharpened by the brutal training of Ozen the Immovable, who forged the pale, scrawny boy into a peak survivalist. Under her watch, his bones learned to break and knit back together until the fear of pain simply atrophied, replaced by an insatiable curiosity.
The turning point in Mitsuki's life occurred years ago when he personally petitioned the Sovereign of Dawn to take him as a disciple. Many expected the boy to end up as "material" or another nameless Umbra Hand, but Bondrewd declined the request with a haunting premonition: "For such a child, life has much grander plans in store." Recognizing that Mitsuki would be far more valuable as a living, breathing extension of his will rather than a mere sacrifice, Bondrewd allowed the boy to follow his own path. This sparked a lifelong obsession; Mitsuki spent years stalking the Umbra Hands' expeditions from the shadows until he was eventually recruited as a specialized independent operative by the Lord of Dawn himself.
Having abandoned traditional Delver protocols, Mitsuki now functions as a bridge between Bondrewd’s cold science and the raw, unbridled instinct of the Abyss. He is a master of tactical survival, relying on his custom-made gauntlets —mechanical talons used for high-speed climbing and injecting harvested neurotoxins. To bypass the lethal ascent zones, he utilizes the "Oculars", a head-relic that renders the Curse of the Abyss visible as a flowing aura. While these goggles grant him a great advantage in movement, they leave him with agonizing migraines—a price he pays with a grin, revealing serrated, razor-sharp teeth.
Mitsuki keeps chaotic, illustrated journals that stay indecipherable to anyone but Bondrewd himself, maintaining a unique intellectual bond with the Sovereign. The Black Whistle never liked to read or learn definition, so he just comes out with his own names for each creature and event. He remains a silent observer and a lethal tracker, finding his true home in the dark, serving the Lord of Dawn with a terrifyingly pure and singular focus.
