I know it seems weird for me the vehement polycrimes-as-in-core-5 shipper to have any sort of High Potential fic prompt (albeit another non-fusion-AU only AU proper if you count non-traditional pairings as making something an AU) for Oz/Wagner but it does still kind of intrigue me despite my theories about Wagner's hidden agenda and how some would say it's kind of power-dynamic no-no to date someone with power over your job anyway (though on the other hand Morgan/Soto is still one of the most popular High Potential ships that isn't just shipping either partner pairing) and I had an idea that wouldn't leave me alone about if Oz does have any feelings for him what could have been a factor in the crush stemming off another of the little-character-quirks-I-wish-would-get-more-story-of
Since Oz is kinda confirmed-for-comic-book-geek (and given how he looked like (though it could have been just having had experience with her hyperfixation and, like, "this again", sometimes TV "rooms" are hard to read) he was kinda Scullying Daphne with the ghost stuff last episode maybe if High Potential does make the paranormal canon they go further with kinda Mulder-Scully shit as it wasn't a pure dichotomy of skeptic Scully believer Mulder as when it came to religious-themed cases Scully was actually more likely to believe so maybe something similar might end up true with Daphodil where their believer-ness might be split on genre lines and, like, Oz believes in aliens but Daphne would be more likely to take the stance Bobby took in Tracker's alien episode and believe that what we think of as alien sightings or w/e are actually beings from higher dimensions) I wonder if maybe some of his favorite superheroes including some who'd have triggered a queer-awakening-he's-not-out-to-the-team-as-about might kinda be more on the antiheroic Chaotic-Good-if-not-Chaotic-Neutral-just-still-heroes-not-evil (y'know, if they could reference DC on an ABC show stuff like Batman or The Question but Marvel-wise, maybe, like, he'd have been a big fan of that whole Netflix Defenders experiment with Daredevil, Jessica Jones etc.). Thus Wagner's simultaneous power/authority (both physically and professionally), mysteriousness and playing-by-his-own-rules might have gotten Oz all hot and bothered partially because it reminds him of that kind of character (and for anything ongoing (even just in a fic yada yada) to happen between them that might involve Wagner ending up finding out Oz's "history" with superheroes and using that to his advantage, y'know, imagine (if they'd be allowed to dress up for Halloween on the job) some future Halloween has him use his family wealth/connections to get ahold of some kind of costume/cosplay of a screen incarnation of whichever brooding antihero or w/e was Oz's queer awakening that looks accurate enough to merit jokes about if he robbed the set and everyone's just kinda blown away even Oz who's like how did he know). He just hasn't told anyone not just because he isn't out to the team but because he knows Morgan would well actually about how because he's part of the force Captain Wagner isn't a vigilante.
