how to create a border for your icon.

this is a tutorial on how to create something like this:

*you need to have some experience with photoshop i guess, or photoshop cause if you don't you're screwed :)

2. add your psd do whatever blah blah then crop your image (make sure its 64x64)

your image should look like this:

4. now you should create a new layer and chose the rounded rectangle tool :

and drag it not fully over of your pic but like so:

**the spaces where you could see your picture will be the border

5. now select layer 1 (that square thingy like so:) and press ctrl at the same time

and you should see little dots around the rounded space like so:

6. then you are to go here:

  and right click > select inverse and it should look like so:

7. then you are to go to the layer where the original pic is:

and hit delete

** if this pops up make sure it looks like so:

now delete layer 1 and now your pic should look like this!:

then resize, make sure the width is 64 and the height is 64 (64x64)

SAVE IT AS A PNG* FILE! 

smart sharpen or sharpen and this should be your final result!!
