Hanging out with his friends was generally a low-stress thing for Max, naturally. But this time, he found himself actually taking inventory before he even left his apartment. He and Murphy had thrown around several different ideas in their plans that Max was struggling to remember it all. What he knew for sure was that he'd promised snacks, namely Skittles. Max sifted through the backpack he'd filled with all of his candy, chips, and other crap they shouldn't have been dumping into their bodies. But hey, they'd won their game earlier in the day, so they totally deserved it. He made sure to grab Mario Kart for good measure — it was his favorite game and he absolutely destroyed when he played, so he never knew when he'd need to kick Murphy's ass in an overly-competitive round. He gave Scout a new bone before he left to keep her occupied, as he always did before going for long; he was too guilty leaving her behind. He ventured out on his walk to the Vaughns' apartment, wearing his Flash shirt as promised, but jeans instead of his Snoopy pajama pants, which were waiting in his backpack. There was no way he was going out in public with those on. He knocked on the door when he finally reached their place, thinking that he really should just have his own key at this point.
