over again ✖ maddie & carson
It had been a relatively long, tiresome day for Maddie, and even though it wasn’t all that late, she still found herself thinking wistfully of the moment when she’d get to fall into bed that night. Shaking her head to hopefully keep the exhaustion at bay, Maddie grabbed her room key from her pocket, slipping it into the tiny slot and entering her room for the first time since she’d woken up that morning. The room was dark, and she wasn’t sure if her roommate was awake or not — or even present. Whichever it was, it was of little importance to her at the moment. She left the light off as she darted around the room, trading her sweats for jeans and flip flops for flats. She certainly didn’t look her best — but she figured it wasn’t of the utmost importance considering Carson had seen her look worse.
Maddie’s foot tapped out an impatient rhythm while she waited for the elevator to arrive. When it finally did and she was heading downwards, her jumpy mood didn’t cease, and a sigh breezed past her lips. She slipped her phone out of her back pocket, her thumbs tapping out a swift text to Carson; I’ll meet you in the lobby? Just as she hit the send button, the elevator came to a soft stop and dinged, and she stepped out. Conscious of the fact that fans were probably wandering around and ready to pounce, Maddie found an obscure place to lean up against the wall and wait, keeping her head lowered while she was on the lookout for Carson.
