My Boy | Alex & Ruben

Everything had been spinning out of control lately, Alex not having a single clue on how to comprehend any of it. First the whole love fiasco going on between Ruben and Ren, Ruben's hospital visit, him and Tegan's breakup - everything was just going too damn fast and it was just making him more unhappy. Even though talking to Ronnie earlier was helpful, he needed to talk to Ruben about everything. He felt like he hadn't been there for his boy recently and felt guilty, he felt sick to his stomach when he found out about him being rushed to the hospital after having a major panic attack. He figured that both needed each other right now, to talk and work things through with one another. Which was why he was waiting in the Achievement Hunter room for Ruben, a 6 pack of beer on his desk along with everything they needed to have a game night. 

He realized that they both felt the most comfortable in this room, AH was there solitude through everything else. This office was their home, they had reached many accomplishments but just sitting at these desks, having stupid conversations while playing video games together. His mind snapped out of it when he heard the door open, looking over to see Ruben and smiling. "Hey."

Past Para: The Boys Take on NYC || Ruben & Alex

The week that everyone looked forward to was finally here. No school for a week, no worrying about anything - but letting loose and having the week of your life. Of course that was Spring Break. Usually Alex wouldn't be doing anything for the special break, he would be going to the bowling alley, having a few drinks with Tegan and taking care of Ren when she needed him. But this Spring Break was different. 

Both him and Ruben wanted to do something productive with their break, not sticking to the same old routine they always had. Sleepovers, drinks, video games - ect. This year, the boys had planned a trip to NYC. Alex had never been to New York, let alone out of Greensville. He was always being held there, Ren needed him and all responsibilities would fall on him when his parents were away - which was always. He had invited Tegan to come along with them, but her work schedule got in the way. Of course Alex was a bit sad about that, but it didn't hurt him too much. He wanted to spend a bit of time with his boy and now he had someone he trusted to keep an eye out for Ren while he was away. Finally there wasn't anything holding him back, it felt great.

He looked out the window, watching the buildings and people wizz by. Because of expensive gas, the boys had decided to take a 14 hour one-way train ride from Greensville Station to Penn Station in New York. The trip was long and Alex didn't know how he wouldn't be driven crazy by the amount of sitting. But playing on his phone with Ruben, them talking and the hours of sleep they got made the time fly by. 

The train stopped when Alex finally realized that they were at Penn Station. He looked at the brunette boy next to him, asleep with his ear buds in. He smirked and took his water bottle, taking off the cap and pouring it all over him. He couldn't stop laughing when Ruben woke up straight away and ripped his headphones off, but quickly stopped and started running off the bus with angry Ruben chasing after him. 

"Thank you!" He shouted to the bus driver, before Ruben tackled him on the curb.

Bro-Talk || Alex & Ruben

Friday night and Alex was sitting all by himself on the couch, a beer resting in his hand. Tegan was working while Ren was out with a friend, he didn't have his girls to bug. He didn't exactly want to go to any parties either, since he was still recovering from his fight with Jace that landed him in the hospital. But that didn't mean he wanted to sit in his house watching America's Next Top Model for the rest of his Friday night, which lead to a quick dial on the phone. 

"Hello?"

"Hey Ruben, are you busy?" 

"Besides from gaming on Halo, yes Alex - I'm fucking booked on life." 

"Don't be such a nob. I wanted to ask if you wanted to go to the plaza or the arcade - just somewhere." 

"You're all alone watching America's Next Top Model again aren't you?" 

"...Maybe."

"You're such a loser, c'mon then. Come pick me up." 

"See you in a jif."

Before Ruben could even form a sarcastic response to that, Alex hung up the phone and got off the couch. Alex loved being with Ruben, even if Ruben is just mean to him the entire time. He knew that Ruben loved him and cared for him like family and it was undeniable that the two were two peas in a pod. Every time Alex hung out with Ruben, it always seemed like an adventure. He grabbed his jacket, money and keys, heading out the door and basically sprinted to his car. He wanted to see his boy and have some bro time together.
