new places, old faces ;
@yienrk
the meeting is nothing short of kibum. he sits at a conference in the sphere building, staring at baek jiyoung herself as she congratulates them all and tells them about their debut concept. his eyes widen when he’s given the position of dance unit leader, and he bows his head in thanks, unable to even form the words of thanks he knows are needed. he’s been in her company for two days and she’s already made him a leader? he was honestly just counting himself lucky to be here, so he can’t express how thankful he is to be leader.
it’s kind of terrifying, though, because he doesn’t actually know any of the boys he’s supposed to be leading. none of their names are familiar, and one is clearly foreign, so kibum has no hope of being able to pronounce it without help. hopefully that boy has an easy nickname he can remember.
after the meeting, he stands with the others and bows low as baek jiyoung leaves ahead of them, then he walks out with the others in a daze. after being in royal for over three years, suddenly being surrounded by strangers who are supposed to be his groupmates is nothing short of unsettling. thankfully, though, kibum manages to hang back a bit to walk next to yien, one of the few familiar faces from around that table.
“so,” he says, slowing his pace to match yien’s and watching as a few of the others move ahead. “here we are. kinda surreal, isn’t it? way different than royal.” he’s kind of rambling while not even speaking in full sentences, but this hasn’t exactly been a normal weekend. he’s certain that even if yien doesn’t feel the exact same way, he’ll at least understand how crazy this has all been -- after all, he and kibum have been going through the exact same thing.
