It was dinner, just dinner...Yet Acadia couldn't quit pacing her caravan until it was time to get ready. She couldn't deny the nerves that had started within her, the very ones that spelled out giddy excitement. It infuriated her. She had tried hard enough to keep him at a distance, to throw every wall she could in his path, but he still continued on. He was determined, that was a fact. She had told herself she'd entertain the idea of this date, to show him that whatever he had expected out of her or assumed wasn't there. Yet she was the one smiling boldly when he left, grinning like a fool when he kissed her cheek, and now debating a shot of something--anything--to calm her nerves. She'd chosen against it and instead busied herself with curling dark locks and pinning them out of her face.
A knock at the door started her. He wasn't due for another fifteen minutes. "Hold on," she called out after a long pause, fighting to keep her voice even. Dark heels clicked on the wooden floor as she opened the door, unable to hide the look of confusion that it wasn't Zac's tall figure taking up her door frame, but the mousy costume designer, Eliana. So quickly her face fell, thin brows raised as she looked down at the shorter female.
"Yes?"
"I fixed your costume, the one where the strap broke?" Eli didn't budge under the intimidating stare of the fire dancer. She held up the costume, though her eyes had wandered over the short and fitted black dress the other wore. "Did I interrupt something?"
"Hm? Oh, no, just getting ready to go out to dinn--" Before Acadia could catch herself, she let it slip. From there it was a whirlwind; Eli gasping and mumbling in Spanish, tossing the costume in the caravan and all but dragging Acadia with her back to her own. She had something better, she assured her, something that she bought on a whim but wouldn't wear. Acadia was left with no time to react as she was changed from the worn black dress, more fitted for a club, into a flared out one with cap sleeves and a scoop neck. The jewel tone was complimented with a small black belt and the pleats along the bust and skirt. It hit just at her knees, the longest of any of her skirts or dresses, and this certainly was the most modest. Before sending her off, Eli rummaged through her jewelery and retrieved an elaborate necklace with peacock-inspired charms hanging from it, along with a pair of earrings that matched. Acadia was still left with no time to inspect herself or react to the sudden kind actions of the costume designer. Her eyes had fallen to the clock; Now she was late. "Shit, I gotta go," she mumbled, backing towards the door. A rare 'thank you' was called out before she was out the door, not bothering to retrieve the dress she had been wearing previously or mustering up a scowl to accompany the assurance that no one would know what had happened. No, there were better things on her mind, and he was standing outside of her caravan.
"Y'know," She started once she inhaled deeply, collecting herself as she approached Zac from behind. The giddy smile on her face was contained to a small one, forcing herself to stand tall as she spoke again. "Superman has X-Ray vision, you could have just used that to see I wasn't in there. You could have had a seat."
