Hi! Can I ask you how you did the text effect on your Aphrodite post, the one where "Goddess" is cut in half ? Thanks a lot 😊
hiii! first of all, i noticed that i misspelled goddess when i posted the edit and was too lazy to redo it (story of my life),, second, i’m sure there are a lot of easier ways to do this but again i was too lazy to look for a tutorial so i just used my photoshop knowledge and did it haha. but if this is too complicated or sth i’m sure there are tutorials for it on @completeresources. so this is the way i did it (under the cut)
1. so first, open a new file that is the size of your picture and make sure it’s transparent
2. make a new layer and place it under the first layer
3. fill that layer with some darker color so you can see what you’re doing haha
4. make a new layer
5. now click on the line tool
6. choose the color you want your text to be
7. and draw a line from one end to another (i used the weight of the line 5px but you can use as thick as you want), like this
8. then make a new text layer, type the text (half of the word) and adjust the settings
9. now duplicate that layer and write the other half of the word
10. arrange the text how you want it to look, e.g.
11. then merge all layers except for the colored one
12. now this might be little complicated but click on free transform and rotate that layer so the line is straight sth like this
13. now use the rectangular marquee tool aka this
14. and select the part of one part of the word what you don’t want on the other side of the line, like this
15. now just delete that part (with the delete key on your keyboard)
16. repeat on the other part
17. you should have sth like this and don’t worry too much about deleting the line
18, now merge all layers except for the colored one again
19. use free transform again to rotate it back the way it was
20. make a new layer and use the line tool again to correct that line, do the same as you did in step 7
21. merge those two layers and make the colored layer invisible
22. and all that you have to do is put that layer on your picture and edit it and that’s it
i hope this was at least somewhat helpful and hope you understood as i’m terrible at explaining lol i’m sure there are easier ways but this is the way i did it 💖
i feel sad and angry and upset but most of all i feel robbed. robbed of something that was supposed to be given to us, of something we had every right over. i so much hope they have something up their sleeve still, or that they fucked up on purpose and have a whole explanation plan for s5 but if not ... i don't know, i was so, SO sure tjlc was real and would happen on screen i feel robbed i feel betrayed this ISN'T what was supposed to happen, this ISN'T what we were supposed to have

It’s like the curtain went down for intermission, but never came back up. The entire audience is just standing around going, “what’s happening? is…is it over?” And you can leave if you like, but you paid a lot of metaphoric money (in time and love and emotional investment) for this performance so you really don’t want to…and all the staff is still standing around?? And for some reason no one will just say, “Yeah, I’m sorry, the rest of it’s been canceled,” or “That’s it for the evening, thanks for coming,” or, “Yes, sorry, we’re having technical difficulties but we’ll be back in a moment,” so we all. just. keep. waiting. and grow increa si n g l y p i s s e d o f f . . .
Should we be angry that they took our (emotional) money for this? Why did they not finish the story? It’s entirely possible that we have been robbed. But by who specifically, and most of all…why won’t they give us any information??
At least if we knew we’d been robbed we could all just confront the criminal, grieve, and get on with our lives, but instead we’re rotting in this weird purgatory where we don’t know how to feel about anything, so I mean…the default feeling is bad.
We feel bad, BBC One. Just, a lot of bad feelings down here on the ground!! Please do something and not something to fake us out. We’re not lab rats, and we’re not in the movie Saw. Please, help us out here. It’s like we’re all the little girl on the plane, indefinitely suspended and even then, only maybe??
